Huming..

I'm not sure if this has been spoken about, but if anyone is rewatching season 1 do you's notice the frequent hum that occurs? the same sound as when they time travelled?? Leads me to wonder if the island is always time traveling but at a pace/speed/duration humans can withstand and not get ill? (i.e doesn't cause major nosebleeds and brain haem) but since the losties left the 'record' is now broken or skipping as its not in it's right order? sorry if this has been discussed before but when i typed 'hum' into search I was given in trouble. Just wondering if anyone has any theories on this.

I dont really remember hearing that humming sound in season 1. Can you point out a place or episode?

I think what you are referring to is from the electromagnetic field. The humming is detectible in the Swan, especially by the concrete slab wall. Electromagnetism is involved in the time travel on the island. Don't forget that the island also moves frequently in space but I am not sure yet if it moves in time. I believe that in the season 1 epi where they had to suddenly move camp up the beach because the tide was coming in so strongly was because the island was moving. I don't recall the name of the episode though.

Notso I am almost positive that TPTB mentioned them moving through "time" a well. I think it was in the 1 hr special prior to the S5 Finale. I beleive it was DL that said that they were afraid they were giving too much away with regard to Isaldn travelling when Sayid and Hurley were talking and they picked up a station playing "oldies" Based on what TPTB were saying was that it may have been "oldies" to them listening to it but where they were in the stream of time it was a current song played on the radio. If anyone has that 1hr special saved. rewatch it and let us know if that was said. I rmemeber it being disucssed and was shocked when i heard it
