Any ideas on the final scene of the show.

With the whole time travel-loop thing, it reminded me alot of the Dark Tower series, written by Stephen King. The main character, The Gunslinger, goes through seven epic novels, and at the very end (spoiler:if you havent read them stop now), it is revealed that he had looped back in time to the very beginning of his journey. It gives the impression that each time he goes through the loop he can change certain things to try and change the outcome. It reminds me of Jacob. Jacob wants to manipulate the variables so the end result will change. The Man in Black said that it always ends the same. I think thats what we're dealing with here. I wouldnt be suprised if the last scene is the first scene of the show.

Anyone else want to guess how it ends?

Wow, I just read that JJ Abrams, Carlton Cuse, and Damon Lindeloff are set to do the film adaptation of the Dark Tower series. So maybe it does tie in.

interesting, I thought there were many similarities to the Dark Tower myself, but I don't see JJ and crew ending it like that. They all have actually met and SK is a huge lost fan. Here's the link to the article: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,1562722,00.html

I have always thought that The final scene will be Jack opening his eyes in he frickin' jungle again. Part of me likes the idea, but another part is telling me that it means the show could go on forever without a real ending. I personally want an ending to the show!

I think the idea is that there is a timeloop and Jacob and the Man in Black and possibly Richard, live through time over and over. They get bored and Jacob decides to try to change destiny. He recruits people to change things but they always fight, conquer, and destroy. I think the real destiny of the Oceanic 6 is to break this cycle, and change the end result, proving Jacob right that you can change things.

Just read an interview with Matthew Fox (HERE (http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b128606_matthew_fox_tells_us_how_lost_ends_how.htm l)) and all he'll say is "the show ends in "an incredibly powerful, very sad and beautiful way. I think is going to be pretty awesome.""

Maybe they blow the whole island up?

If it turns out at the end of S6 that it has all been a video game then the writers better go into hiding otherwise they'll be lynched!

The question then would be where does the loop start in the first place, could it be possible the ending will be Locke walking out of the jungle his body inhabited by the mib thinking hes finally ended the game only to find Jack now inhabited by jacob sitting on the beach watching the first set of new people arriving to the island, thereby restarting the loop again?
