Did anyone notice the Sharks logo? Just before Michael shoots it, they show it swim by underwater. There is a Dharma logo on it's tail. Do you think this is just an "easter egg" or is it really on the shark? So then I wonder, is it a real shark or some kind of machine? I've also seen this weird bird a couple times. It is the same color as the greenery in the forests, and very large. Does not look like a real bird. I'm wondering if these are some sort of survellience, maybe they have cameras in them?
Is this like the Truman Show or something?

The DI logo on the shark was adressed way back when that episode aired. Most likely from the hydra station but who knows but we all saw it when the epi first aired.

Erm yeah i think it would be planted camera, I mean how else could you stamp a shark? I dunno about the bird though that could just be props error but im with you on the shark, unless it had fricken laser beams attached to fricken his head!

There was a machanical shark made by the props department and for a laugh they put the Dharma logo on it. They forgot to remove it before the shoot and never expected that to happen. So, TPTB just wrote it off to the shark being an experiment from the DI from Hydra Island.....it's explained on the DVD set from season 2 in the commentary or whatever it's called. They even show the props guy with the marked shark.

The DHARMA logo belongs to an unknown station. So what is that station or was it just a random widget creation (a model or for practice)?
Here is the hydra logo which looks nothing like the one seen on the shark.

Pour your DHARMA beer into these pint-size beauties available through www.lost.collection.co.uk/Mugs--and--Glasses.php

I'm sure there are other vendors out there with your specific country that would have this available.

"In the "Lost on Location" featurette for "Adrift" on the Lost Season 2 DVD, it is said that in the special features section the creators of the shark model stamped on a DHARMA logo as an "inside joke". It was meant to be only for the creative team and a small number of very observing fans, but the shot was mistimed and the logo was much more clearly visible than originally intended."

Thanks to everyone for answering that for me. I guess I would have figured it out eventually. I'm just renting the seasons disc by disc, so I haven't got to the Special Features disc yet. Still don't know about the green bird yet though..... any ideas?

I'm not sure what bird you mean, unless you are talking about the Hurley Bird. If that's the case, it has made an appearance twice I believe and it seems to squawk Hurley as it flys by.

I remember seeing that big bird once in season 1; I heard nothing. I know some people with a cockatoo, they think it speaks and pointed it out to me when the bird was "speaking," but I do not think so.
I know the DHARMA logo on the shark is what it was before answering. There are 6 DHARMA stations that were supposedly monitored from the pearl, plus three others and the Lamp Post in LA (locates the island). The DHARMA logo on the shark does not appear to have come up. None of the stations below have a symbol similiar to the one seen on the shark, which is a black circle with a white line going through it. I thought perhaps we would have uncovered a mystery, but it seems to be a dead end.
1 The Staff
2 The Arrow
3 The Swan
4 The Flame
5 The Pearl
6 The Orchid
7 The Hydra
8 The Looking Glass
9 The Tempest
10 The Lamp Post

It's not a dead end. It was never really a road in the first place. The logo was placed on the shark by the production crew. Sort of a nod and a wink to themselves and was meant only for themselves to see. Little did they realize that the camera would catch it and it would wind up in the footage. It then became its own mystery but there was no secret to it.
when am i?

Yes we saw that bird in both the season 1 and season 2 finales.
In season 2 Hurley asked,"did that bird just say my name?"
Sawyer replied,"right before it crapped gold!"

I actually only see the logo when I pause the dvd and move it forward step by step. Maybe I have bad eyesight. I've watched it a million times at normal speed and can never see it....

This is true. We need an answer to this next season. Hurley's presence on the island and the numbers have yet to be explained fully.

This is really ironic! I just rented season 2 on dvd and I seen the dharma logo on the shark too! I paused it and looked at it for a while, and than a couple episodes later I seen what station that logo looked like... it looked like the station where the tail end of the oceanic 815'ers were held.
I think it was a stupid idea to not just edit the shark logo out...

I was under the impression that the bird that called out "Hurley" was none other than Smokey

In the Season 6 premiere "LA X," we see the Dharma Shark again with the logo on his tale (during the flythrough of the underwater island)...very cryptic

I think all of the appearances of the numbers will not be explained. The explanation for Hurley's presence will be an Oh WoW! kinda moment.
