Okay before I post this I know I have not seen this one anywhere else so please don't spam me saying its not my idea I thought it up like 3 mins ago and now I'm posting it lol

I just read something that I had completely forgotten about back in hurley's episode in his dream he sees a picture of walt on a milk carton it says missing,At first I was thinking maybe its because he was missing or all the damn kidnapping going on at the island

But we all know better then that nowdays huh lol..

I believe that walt's mother might have actually been offered something else other then a job and I really believe that its possible she never went to amsterdam at all but went to some darma base so walt could be tested on for people who havent noticed this walt is very similar to what jacob can do for what we know atm I am about to descibe why

When we first see walt back when his mom was alive in a flash back we see him looking at birds in his book just seconds later a bird flys into his backdoor and dies, the camera view changes showing us the page of the book he was looking at on the page is the same species of bird that was just slammed into there window/door

Also we go back to the polar bear episode where walt is reading the comic book with the polar bear in it later in the episode we see a polar bear and everybody is like what the f**K we where led to believe that it was for somekind of test back in those cages or something but that was on the other island so Idk I really just think this is a connection

Jacob- Can somehow lure people to the island by possibly touching them

walt - possible he can look/think of things and make them come to him aswell

This is really leading me to believe that jacob and that other guy are just humans that have been somehow inhanced thorugh darma/something else

I have a entire theory about the whole show I will post soon probably explaining smokey/the tunnels ect

Hope you enjoyed

Interesting. I like the connection of Walt to Jacob - similar powers.

I don't know if you have the DVD sets but on one of them, I forgot which season, there is a deleted scene with Walt in room 23. Well, what he did in room 23 anyway. Bea Klugh stops Ben in the hall of that station and tells him that the child is too difficult to handle and no one wants to go near him anymore. She takes Ben outside to the platform of a staircase. As the camera pans down you see the boarded up windows and she points out room 23's by the big pile of dead birds in front of it. I think that Walt's powers come from his ability to sence electromagnetic fluctuations. Birds navigate by the earth's magnetic fields.

"New research finds that a photochemical compass may simulate how migrating birds use the magnetic field, along with light, to navigate.

One theory for how it all works has been that photoreceptors in a bird's retina absorb light, which causes a chemical reaction that, in turn, produces a short-lived photochemical species whose lifetime is sensitive to the magnitude and direction of a weak magnetic field.

The idea is supported by the fact that blue light photoreceptors have been detected in retinas of migratory birds when they perform magnetic orientation. However, it has not been confirmed that a magnetic field as weak as Earth's can produce detectable changes within a photochemical molecule; nor, has a photochemical molecule been shown to respond to the direction of such a magnetic field."

So, I think that Walt may have his own type of magnetic field around him to attract the birds. As for the polar bear, the comic book was a red herring. We know that the DI had polar bears on Hydra Island and TPTB have said that it is not a stretch to figure out that after Dharma was gone a few escaped and swam to the island. Frankly, that is a simple and very good explanation.
