One of my favorite scenes still to this day was when Ben was locked in the room in the hatch and Sayid was opening a serious can of "whoop azz" while Locke and Jack are having their own little tiff on the other side of the door because Jack wants the combination to the room that JL had changed. Than all the sudden the countdown clock starts its famous beep and jack is telling JL he wasnt letting him go until he gets the number. I just found it so intense because we hear Sayid in the room just laying it into Ben(Henry Gale at that time) and the countdown clock is going and jack is yelling at JL. To me it was just really an intense scene and always sticks out in my mind. Not to say there arent others but thats was one of the first most exciting scenes that were jst intense. So much energy in that scene and brilliantly done by all the actors. Well written and well directed. It was the epi "One of Them" in S2
Ive said it before and I'll say it again.
My favorite scene in the whole show so far was when we see Juliet and the book club. and then everything starts to shake and they go outside to see 815 crashing. Then Ben starts rattling off orders to ethan and goodwin. then the camera pans out and you see the barracks in the middle of the island.
That scene was so memorable for me becasue it completely changed my view of any theory I may have had going on at the time. It was the first time we saw the barracks and the fact that there was living quarters on the island like that was mind-blowing. And it was really cool to finally meet Ben instead of Henry Gale
Edit* This scene is the opening scene of season 3, "A Tale of Two Cities"

When Charlie shot Ethan in Homecoming. I knew after this episode, that LOST had me hook, line , and sinker.

when the others ambushed the losties in Live Together Die Alone.
The helicopter battle in There's No Place Like Home.
The Purge in The Man Behind The Curtain.
The battle and deaths at the Swan in The Incident.
These are a few of my favorite moments.
When Jin, Bernard and Sayid were going to shoot the ambushing others but Jin, of course being Jin, failed and then Ben ordered to have them killed.

most intense scene.... hmmm that's a tough one because there are so many!
I'd have to say that the most intense scene for me is when Jack is operating on Ben and then purposefully cuts some "sack" that will kill Ben. I was like woah! and of course with Kate arguing with Jack over the walkie talkie did not help! lol

I have a lot of favorite scenes for a myriad of reasons but the scene that sealed it for me was when Hurley saw the numbers on the side of the hatch. The hair stood up on the back of my neck and that was the point when I stopped planning any other activities on Lost night and became the nutter I am today! :D

I would have to say mine's would be the same as Lostime, but because of Sayid. When Ben tells him "You keep asking me who I am, but you haven't told me who you are" Response....." I am Sayid Jarah, and I am a Toturer" I yelled at the screen YEAH WOOP HIS ARSE!!

Ben telling Juliet "because Juliet... you're miiine."
For me it is the funniest/creepiest scene in the entire series.
Michael Emerson must get his emmy.

That was funny and creepy at the same time. What was funny was how he walked away from her. It was the funniest looking thing

When Tom kidnapped Walt from the raft.

Well, that's because he's definitely Ben and Ben is the greatest! Hands down!
LostTime, this is a great thread!
Probably the most intense moment for me was Jacob in the cabin, which at that moment, suddenly turned LOST into one's worst nightmare!
Or...Charlie's immenent death. :( You just kept hoping beyond hope that it wouldn't really happen.
and if there was one scene that ever made me jump up and yell "STOP IT!!" right out loud... then that would be Jack relentlessly beating Ben to a pulp during the exodus.

Another great Ben scene was when he was still Henry Gale and he lets the Losties know (kind of) that Jack, Kate and Sawyer were walking into a trap. Then asks, "You guys got any milk?"
That was before I got used to being played with by TPTB. I literally gasped.

When Michael shot and killed Ana-Lucia and Libby at the end of "Two For the Road." I think I sat transfixed in front of the television screen with my eyes and mouth wide open for a full minute after the credits rolled. A major turning point for the show, and for Michael's character.

I am just rewatching S1E1 and it amazes me how incredible this show started out. It had comedy, intensity, thrill, amazement and a few other words I cant think of at the moment. But whats interesting was for a long time I thought when Smokey was making the horn sound it was leaving but after seeing this again, I heard it make that horn sound I think2 times total and on the second horn sound it appeared to be heading away from the beach line. What was interesting though as it showed up in a completley different spot as if there was more than one the way they were watching and listening and than all the sudden another loud sound and tree movement or upheaval. It showed the Losties looking in one area than all the sudden they turn their heads quite noticeably to the left or right and maybe this is something that we all missed that their is more than one so that could explain why it appeared as 3 when going towards Juliet and Kate and hitting the sonic fence. It might also explain why 1 or 2 of the three can be good and vice versa. Where some are working to protect the island and the other(s) are working for beachboy if not beach boy himself. Any thoughts on this?

You know, as I was posting my own, I did think about the trees being "plucked" out or down or whatever the heck they were doing, and that noise in the jungle and all.... and the pilot being snatched up!!! oooh!
What terror! Poor losties! and to think that was only the beginning for them!
Oh, wait... almost forgot ... yes, about the smokie/3 headed thing... yes...cool!

I would have to say another really intense moment for me was when Sun finds Charlie's ring in aaron's jacked up crib on the beach. Charlie's death was a major impact on the show and how his relationship with Claire and Aaron was just amazing. So even in season 5, that scene where his ring is found, chills went up and down my spine.

I think another really intense scene was when Juliet got the chain wrapped around her and Sawyer was hlding her and he was terfied and she was crying. I think it would have been more wild and interesting that while Kate was helping she get stuck dangling like Juliet and now Swyer was going to have to decide one or the other similar to the movie "The Good Son" HE would have picked kate because she is back next season but it would have made some interesting discussions on here why he chose Kate. Did he love her more, was it the Island not letting her die. Something for sure. I would say that if they did that it would have realy been super intense and speculations would have ran rampant. The explanation could have been simple and also because of that choice of Sawyer it could have really played well into his character next season. Man I wish they did that

James, Kate or Juliet? You can only save one...

No doubt one of the most intensely emotional moments for me was in "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" where Jack and Kate find Charlie hanging in the tree nearly dead. Jack is pounding on Charlie's chest to try to revive him. Kate is crying begging Jack to stop, but Jack will not let Charlie die, and with one final desparate fist to the chest Charlie gasps a big breath....whew...

That was very wild seeing those same number on the side of the hatch. We still dont know if these numbers have anything to do with a curse. I am not sure they were just coincidences. I mean over the course of a lifetime, you can lose an uncle, a house catches on fire, your alarm clock doesnt work and makes you late for a flt, you witness a person fly past the window of a high rise building while you are in the building, your car breaks down, but less likely you will witness a comet crashes into a restaurant you just bought.
Now granted these things occured all in a reltively short time frame. Do we know how long a time period it was from the time he won the money and all these things had occured? So was this also an act of beachboy or did hurley really just have a crappy experience with money. Why did Lenny freak out when he said he used the numbers to play th lottery? Was he just crazy or did it mean something more

That is episode one season one when creators and writers were not sure how long the show would last. At that time they were not sure what the monster would look like. We never saw the monster until like episode 5 or something. I believe the outline JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof came up with in 5 days was just for season 1. I would say it is possible for more than one smoke monster, but I think that might be cheating us the audience out of a quality storyline.

maybe but do you think that Smokey just has the ability to separate into more than one, because it did come from 3 distinct separate entities whe nit attacked Juliet and Kate at the sonic fence
