I will respond to this thread even though its completely unrelated to Lost because if you cant lick'em join'em. So I will answer without a doubt. Rush is my all time favorite group. Those 3 are so talentled, individually and as a group.

THE BEATLES changed the course of music. Their influence continues today.
John, Paul, George, and Ringo, and producer George Martin were true artists.

I also think Rush are great and love their sound as well as Geddy's voice.

Zeppelin is my favorite though,I love their amazing sound.
Next would be Pink Floyd and then Rush.

Rock, but I like many other genres of music almost as much.

I believe they are mine too. Even though I have many favorites, the Beatles are IT, ya know? As far as genre goes, it depends. Some days rock, some days country.

Actuallly I think they are one of the worst bands ever.

Who's another Floyd fan, you?

Well, just cause they're my favorite band doesn't mean I can't putt some other type of genre as my favorite, right? I like all sorts of music, from classical to trance, but jazzy jazz is what makes me tickle. ;)

Yes I am another Floyd fan, they are a close 2nd for me after Zeppelin.

right,
and having elements of jazz in some of their music must have been a factor in them being your fave band.
When people talk of bands, usually it is rock that comes to mind.
Actually for me instrumental music like Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds",Jean-Michel Jarre and much classical music would be my fave genre other than rock.

Yeah, I love Jean-Michel Jarre, and also Vangelis.

Well, Pink Floyd - you can hardly put them in any category - they were so ahead of their time - they had everything in their music. So that's why I said jazz.

But when I think of rock - I think of Elvis. I loooove the King. And also Janice, Hendrix and that bunch. Contemporary rock is not really my thing.

Cool choices. I was into the metal big time when I was a teenager. Kiss was my favorite. I was lucky enough to see them twice.

I thought I'd add a little old school rock n roll!

Funny, my "old guy/coolness factor" was that I saw Kiss live with the makeup.
Jeez, must have been about '78-'79. Cheap Trick opened for them.

Then they went and did that reunion tour... I went, but it threw a wrench into my whole program. :D

Now I guess I can claim that I've never seen them without the makeup.

UGH!!!!! Cheap Trick!!!!!! OMG!!!! Way back in the 70's, when they were a pretty unknown new band, I worked backstage at one of their shows! WHAT PIGS!!! And that guy Robin! Ick!!!! He thought that the other girl I worked with and I were in the "rider" of his contract...you can only imagine what that means! YUK! And, the other girl happened to be the wife of the head of security for the show! Wretch! They also took syringes full of who knows what and stuck them into cans of soda for poor unsuspecting people! Gag!!! Cheap Trick is not a favorite on mine...can ya tell? lol. All true. I swear. What an impression they made. Oh yeah, and they trashed the backstage dressing room....what else would you expect? lol.

Not sure, I like a lot of songs by a lot of different bands, and I don't care about genre unless it's either rap or country, which I really can't stand at all. Mostly I listen to rock, though. As far as bands or artists go, I listen to those such as ZZ Top, ACDC, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Queen, the Beatles, the Doors, Aroesmith, Lynard Skynard, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, and I like a couple of songs by the Ink Spots.

I just like music. I like Pachelbel and Prince and Rob Zombie. Not too crazy about country except for a little bit here and there. I've got CDs with musical theater, ska, and indie. I love punk rock and metal and new metal and have some industrial rock, alternative rock, classic rock, fifties rock and white boy rap rock.

Last CD I got was a two disc set of Rent.

Last concert I went to was just a little over a week ago. It was seven bands in eight hours. I was up by the stage with my head buzzing, and my legs numb, packed in so tight the only way to move was jump up and down. I got hit in the head with a drumstick and soaked in beer and other people's sweat. HED (PE) almost caused a riot and a mosh broke out right next to me. Drowning Pool might not be the best band ever, but they put on a hell of a show.

Kiss was pretty awesome in the day! I saw them in 74 , make-up, fire-breathing, blood dripping, all that...so much fun! Loved them!
