In S2 ben shows up for the first time, why he don't recognize Said, the man who try to kill him when he was a boy?

If you watch that episode again (ssn 2...forget the number and name) but There is a definate look of shock on Bens face at his first meeting with Sayid....although Sayid was there to torture him, but he looks really shocked...so perhaps he does recognize him?
It's not really clear yet whether or not Ben recognized him, but like anything else on lost, lets hope that we get an explanation on this question as well.
If you notice in the new season, even up to the finale, little Ben has yet to appear since they took him to the temple....maybe we'll get an explanation on what exactly happened to him.

Good point!! Thismake me think that the creators of lost (JJ and Co.) didn't create lost like one plot only... will see!!

Because ---- despite what everyone wants to believe including all the evidence such as your listing...there are TWO (2) Timelines.
Gosh forbid the answer was so easy huh....

Ben doesnt recognize Sayid as the reason he was almost killed because for exactly the reason Alpert said. He told Kate and Jack that he wold have no memory of what happened. We are told this. We dont have to speculate and conjure up an alternate world reason for it when the answer is given to us.
Than we also have to consider that even if ben did know, doesnt mean he was going to say anything but use Sayid for some purpose but I am sticking wit hthe fact is because Bens memry of wha thappened was gone for the reason Alpert mentioned

This.
I was reading through this thread and it surprised me no one remembered that Ben wasn't supposed to remember. What I find interesting is that he has this odd fascination with him in both times, even though he doesn't remember.

I just dont think we have to invent some reason Ben doesnt know or remember.
Richard clearly said that if he takes ben and does whatever hedoes to save his life he would have no memory of it and his innocence will be gone. As far as I am concerned, this is the only reason that ben doenst know. But that is not to say that he doesnt learn about this at some other time. But based on what we are thinking that he doesnt know and explains the whole Miles and Hurley conversation, well this is the reason.
I think TPTB have done a great job leading people along making them forget these simple explanations for some of the events that have occured

Could we be missing what Richard was trying to tell us?
In his words that Ben won't be the same and he won't remember, simply mean that he is dead and the only way to bring him back is if the smoke monster or whoever is taking over dead bodies takes over little Ben's body? So Ben has been a manipulation of Ben the whole time?
It would be interesting if this is true, but it would be hard to explain how Ben sees the smoke monster and such.
Just a theory, not a very good one, but it's now tossed out there if no one else has said it prior.

Also we have to think about what Richard said to Locke. Richard said that he has seen incredible things on the Isalnd but never has he seen anyone come back from being dead. If Richard was underthe impression that Ben was dead and itwas just an apparition of Smokie or whatever than he wouldnt have been so surprised to see Locke, knowing Ben killed him.

Ya the theory makes sense here and there. Gives a little back story to the reason why Ben loves the island so much. There would just have to be about another 3 seasons to explain it as its almost like Swiss cheese with all the holes. ha
Ben's just one of those characters that I never assume that he isn't able to accomplish something. Ya it may be a different approach but he would get the job done. It wouldn't surprise me if he has some god-like abilities!

I doubt he has any god-like abilities. He was manipulated by someone pretending to be Locke and was unable to hear the voice say "Help Me" that only John heard. I think Ben was someone used for the moment and he never really demonstrated any true love except for children.
He seemed to have been influenced by his own jealous rage
