Tonight's FlashForward promises to focus on Simon (Dominic Monaghan). It will be the first full episode to feature Simon after he phoned Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) two weeks ago. Right now, we're wondering about an even more mysterious figure on the show.

I am surprised no one is saying its the guy that Mark and Dimitri found in the warehouse with the dolls. he made the comment about "He who sees his future suffers double" I dont rememebre exactly but it was an ominous saying none the less. He was also dressed in dark if I am not mistaking and was on to something with the equipment in the warehouse that he destroyed.
I looked it up and he said “He who foresees calamities suffers them twice over.”

Ibelieve suspect zero, the guy in the warehouse... and our beloved "charlie... now simon, are one in the same. just too obvious tho. lol.
I am a little confused that Lloyd and Simon are involved in it as they both have had flashforwards. I want to know more about the story and I will finally start to complain about the show now...
The music in the show is terrible. Last week it was mismatched music during the D.C. shootout and the lady FBI agent getting shot. Then this week when Mark is chasing the kids with the masks on halloween, the music doesnt fit twith the mood at all. Its almost as if they are trying too hard to have cool music, just put in something simple that fits the scene.
Also, Mark & Olivia are the stupidest people on the planet. If last night was their breakup, then we need way more information on Mark's alcoholism. Becasue it sounded to me like she is throwing in the towel now. If this was the fight or rift that would break them, then I have ZERO compassion for their characters.
I did however like how the autistic kid was reading the mailer in their house on the fridge and thats how he knew the address. but this leads me to not underestand the flashforwards completely...
a)Llyod is in the main living room area which is adjoined to the kitchen area. He is sitting there and the two kids are supposed to be in the kitchen area with the daughter saying "this is your house too" bit. The kids flashforward seemed way different than one that could take place right next to Lloyd and Olivia's flashforwards.
b) The daughter first described her flashforward as seeing something really bad, now it looks as though she was just hanging out with Lloyd's son. What gives, either something goes down in the next 2 minutes for the little girl or someone's story is messed up.
Anyone else feel the same?

I think even though he was in on the experiment he also made it so he can experience the FF.
I wonder if somethign happens that night that causes the little girl to see it as a terrible day. We arent given insight to her vision but I am guessing something bad happens that night.

I was thinking that maybe they had flash forwards in the earlier test and not in the big event.
As for 'no more good days' ... it's a child. Her dad isn't there anymore. As unsettling as it is for everyone else to see confusing things, how bad would that be for a kid who still thinks they will always live in their house with their mom and dad.
The autistic kid was odd for me. At first I was just wondering if that's what they were shooting for. I've got a few autistic family members and recognized a lot of what he was doing, but I guess having lived with it so long, there are certain things that would be difficult to play, not just for the kid, but for the father. It's hard to explain, but there are times when I've noticed an autistic kid, not from the way they act, but from the tone of the parent's voice when they're about to do something.

Good point about the little girl not seeing her dad around and hat could have taken a toll on her.
I am under the impression that although they were in on the experiment, they made it so they experinced it and only a few who were in on it were somehow "protected" from whatever caused the blackout.
Whatever the experiment was had to be pretty impressive to cause a world wide blackout and no one was able to esacpe it except those in on it and watching what happened during the blacout.
Oh I wanted to ask you DBH, do you think that the FF they had in a controlled experiment was at an earlier time but their vision was also set to occur on April 29th 2010?

So what was the mirror image in Dylans vision all about?
(Two consecutive freeze-frames.)

Because this show is about mirror/alternate universes also.
Or more likely TPTB are having fun withthe theory floating around. Cant keep it limited to one view point

for the love of... good catch on the kids drawing and the mirror universe stuff. oy. NO MORE.
Dead But Here: so with you. I think simon and whats his nuts visions were from an earlier experiment. I think Simon is the guy in Detroit stadium. I suspect they cannot control the april 29, 2010 ff, as in they are not the ones setting the date or they do not know how to set the date, it just happens. and i suspect this is consciousness time travel, ala the constant. [insert eye roll here] finally, i think the kids may be different. they may be minutes off or more forward in their vision. so, i think what charlie the child and the little dude saw was probably either off in timing or more complete. little kids probably have much more impressionable brains and so are able to accept more. or something like that.

Yea I think they need to start writing their own show and not ride the "..tails" anymore from lost.
If you cant do the story without it than stop, huh?
I think it can survive on its own without having anymore references to Lost. Its actually not fun anymore.

ok just watched this episode online and catching up with this thread

no. simon had a vision and patient zero... er I mean suspect zero did not black out.

Yes, I agree with mostly all of this.
I think the actress who plays Olivia makes every character she plays seem like a b*tch. The problems in their relationship don't really make sense and the acting and the dialog in that argument scene was terrible btw.
Is anyone else getting bored with this show btw? The mystery aspect of the show is starting to fizzle out for me. I don't know all the details, but they've revealed that it was some kind of "experiment" and I can see where that's headed and it doesn't seem that exciting.
Beyond that we're not getting too much stuff about people trying to control their own destinies or changing the future which is the obvious philosophical element of this show. Plus I don't really care about any of the characters and don't find any of them interesting except for the cop who is going to die. Charlie er.. I mean Simon is a terrible villan so far. He's more comical than intimidating.
And I've already complained about this I know, but so many parts of this show are cliche and predictable.
I hope this show doesn't go beyond one season. April 29, 2010 is the date right? Everything should be building up to that event and then I want some resolution to this. I'm just hoping they don't cancel it before they finish their story.

Don't know what the answer is as to why or even IF Simon's vision is the same date. I do know it's my favorite one so far. Dom + Sex + Violence mmmmm... Um. This probably means I'm a deviant, huh?
Anyway.... I think some of the connections to Lost are just going to be people connecting things that are just... there. I've written things and worked with writers and one thing I know is that they often put things in that are just for them or for their friends. Sawyer court doesn't have to be about lost. It could be a childhood address or a best friend's dog's name.
The oceanic billboard... totally Lost. I'm fine with that, though. Hell, when it comes down to it, I'd be fine with Mrs Hawking showing up and telling them there's a window for their experiment and it has to in a time and place to correspond with the bombing of a black hole or something. As long as it's done in a way that can stand alone... Do not care. Just don't want to see Niki and Paulo unless they're going to be getting it on in someone else's tent. They so should have made that deleted scene their intro. We would have loved them.

I know what you are saying DBH but dont you think its a little coincidental for the name to be Sawyer? What else will any Lost fan think or make the connection.
Whether that was TPTB intention or just a nod to someone they know personally it still going to be a connection to Lost, if not for anything more than the same name as a major character on the show.

Some names or words will just pop up. I'm not bothered by it, intentional or not.

I haven't been paying attention to all the subliminal nods and wins to Lost but yeah it's pretty obvious that this show is very derivative. They obviously took a lot of inspiration from Lost but that may not necessarily be such a bad thing.
I mean we don't want copycat shows, but I think a lot of us are hoping that Lost can help make television more creative and help us escape these boring formulaic court and hospital dramas that are so prevalent on TV today. If network TV starts copying this then the 'forumla' will be science fiction. The TV execs will start saying, we need more science fiction genre shows and most of them will be bad but hey, at least it's something different?
