Of the original survirors of flight 815. There were 45 (more or less) that were on the plane, man, weman, and children.
The others had what about between 20 and 30 people ???
Now then, let’s see…..Boone and his sister died, the stripper and her boyfriend were paralyzed by the spider and were buried ( died). Mr. Echo died cause of the black smoke.
Somehow, Hugos girlfriend died. And Charlie supposedly died. And the guy with the eye patch who killed Charlie. That puts us at 8 people. Sorry forgot about Ethan. That’s 9…
So, between to 65 to 75 people (survirors and others) minus the 9 we are down to 56 to 68 people on the island somewhere? ???
The others, went to the Temple with all the children…
Some went with Locke and some went with Jack. Siad and Desmond are on the helicopter going to the frighter….But Miles, Dan , and the other lady are on the island..SOOOOOOO, somewhere on the island, there are between 57 and 69 people…..
Now to my point…. The Oceanic 6, Jack, Kate, Hurly, Siad, and ? and ? But jack said that 8 people survied the crash but 2 died….. way to many questions, where is all the other people ? And I fear that when it’s all said and done at the end of season 6 in 2010, there will still be unanswered questions out there, which we may never know the answers to…..

Agmic, I also Have been wondering about the losties who are just background props at the moment. Either there is going to be a "war" as has been stated ,in which all but our heroes are killed off, or they remain on the island as part of those Sayid is trying tp protect. Possibly, there is another purge that only the O6 survive, and why jack has to go back in time to try to prevent.

i am think a few others have died and stuff so there may be a bit less but regardless of that they dont get home apparently. or maybe they do but in secret or perhaps they continue to live on the island willingly or are trapped for some reason.

I think it would be wrong to assume that the "background survivors/others" are going to play a role in the plot. Just as many of the characters who we're acquainted with have died, we must also assume that many who we never got to know have died as well and it simply was not depicted to us because we didn't know them. They're not going to pull some hitherto un-named and faceless cast member into the main plotline, that would be too much of a cop-out. I think we're just going to see more and more of them disappear, some with explanation and some without, but I don't think that it means anything that there are still extras alive on the island. Also, don't forget that many more Others died in the final confrontation on the beach at the end of season 3.
