I was thinking about this today and was wondering why I'm such a huge fan of Juliet and some of you other guys are too...

I mean, what does she really do that makes us like her sooo much?

She's very pretty IMO, she knows what to say and is thoughtful and is caring.. But it seems like there is so much more!

I just don't get it.

She was not only hot but had a good head on her shoulders. She knew just what to say to Sawyer and Sayid when they attempted to corner her when she was getting the medication for Claire.

She can kick some butt and something about being an Other was kind of sexy in of itself.( yea that applies to only the women, for me lol)

And she had a healthy set of lungs which didnt hurt either LOL

As a woman, I admire her ability to make rational decisions in matters of the heart rather than stricty emotional ones. I also think that there is still a lot of mystery surrounding her character and it has certainly left me wanting to know more. :)

I like the blank expressionless stare she has in so many scenes and her completely irrelevant role to the show's plot. I also like that she is most likely dead, based on how season 5 ended.

Brains. And a good heart. And being beautiful doesn't hurt.

I thought her wanting to "reset" things as Jack said because she was emotionally hurt by what she thought was going on with Sawyer and Kate and thats why she opted to join Jacks cause.

Not necessarily a matter of the heart is it?. Unless I am just confusing the two?

Juliet was always a favorite of mine for her mysteriousness. Her storyline contributed more to my enjoyment of the show. I knew she would end up dead, at least in one timeline LOL.

She made the decision to join Jack's cause so she wouldn't have to remember losing Sawyer, right?

Hahaha, I knew a comment like that was coming. :D

Is that a mobius loop made out of bread, TP?

Right. I thought it was because it was so emotionally upsetting because she thought she lost Sawyer to Kate

Thought she even said that this is the only way she can never have kown Sawyer and be hurt by the situation. I would consider this more of an emotional decision.

But like I said I could be confusing the 2.

She was doing what Sawyer claimed jack of doing. Reacting to a situation and not thinking it out.

Granted not much time to go home and iron out the details but still think it was an emotional response

Hmm, maybe she knew of a different reality where Sawyer and Kate were together, but something changed so that now she was with Sawyer. Which she was happy about, but she was always concerned about 'course correction' happening to get Sawyer and Kate back together. Perhaps she saw a chance of beating course correction, or at least for a while longer, when they were going to leave on sub without Kate, but then Kate 'turns up' on the sub, so she goes for a different option.

I don't know, LT. I just think she could have stayed on the sub and continued down the road with Sawyer but she got the sense that they didn't belong together much like her parents didn't belong together. Knowing that, I think she made a very wise decision. She could have easily continued loving Sawyer but she made a very rational, cognitive choice. I don't know if I could do that as I'm a pretty heart-led person but I wish I could! I admire her strength.

I don't like her all that much. Well, for one, if I did Ben would have me killed, but for real, I am not sure how all you folks can keep talking about what a good heart she has. After all, she was part of a group who kidnapped people, including children, and used some of them as slave labor. She was part of interrogating Jack after he was captured. Sure, she was never quite 100% one of the others, but she played her part sure enough.

So, even though we were shown how she got mixed up in all this and we see her in love with both Jack and Sawyer, she's not really all that "good" of a person. But then again, who on this show really is? They all have their skeletons.
(I guess they'd have to, else they would just be shapeless masses of muscle and flesh on the floor.)

Hey JD....what do you mean by slave labor? OH, and don't forget that Juliet wanted to leave but was held against her will by Ben. You are certainly entitled to your opinions about her character though!

Well possible. just seems that she was threatened by kate and used her parents as the excuse.

But if Sawyer demonstrated that he didnt want kate, how did Juliet make the rational and wise choice? Seemed just the contrary. based on what I saw, Sawyer wasnt going to go back to Kate and hurt juliet.

Sawyer didnt seem into Kate when he encouraged jack to go after kate if he loved her.

Seed he was happy with juliet and didnt care if Jack wanted to be with Kate.

Sawyer even told kate when they went to bring ben to the Others that it would never have worked.

Sawyer and Kate were being used as slaves, and Juliet was right there.

Yeah, I guess we just see it differently LT. Remember when they flashed back to her parents speaking to her about getting divorced and her Mom telling her that they loved each other but just weren't meant for one another? She told Sawyer the same thing when she saw the way he looked at Kate. That is why she wanted to join Jack's cause because that way she wouldn't have to remember losing Sawyer. She loved him but didn't think they were meant to be together. Yes, it's an emotional subject matter but she made a very cognitive decision based on the lesson she learned from her parents. That's the way I see it anyway and I admire her for making a logical decision rather than following her heart.

Sawyer and Kate were being used as slaves, and Juliet was right there.

She was just as much a captive as they were. Her only chance of getting off the Island was to do what she came there to do. Don't forget she warned Jack about Ben while he was being held captive and helped Kate and Sawyer escape. Every action she has taken has been performed according to her conscience. Unless I'm forgetting something. If I am I'd like to hear it.

I agree, Booty. She's very level-headed in my estimation and I only wish I was more like her in that respect.

Juliet is my fav female.
She's got insight, temperance, is slow to anger and quick to forgive.
Juliet keeps her cool under pressure and has excellent problem solving skills.
She accepts a situation for what it is and takes it from there.
oh, and she's really pretty too. :D

I like Juliet because she is kick-a**, but in a quiet and calculated way that makes her seem exceptionally dangerous. There is something behind those glaring eyes that is mysterious and patient and smart, like she has no problem keeping her cool but she'll do what she has to when she has to do it with no problem. She has a way of seeming powerful and vulnerable at the same time. Plus she has decent knockers (I can say knockers here, right? ;)).

I agree 100% with your description, Found! Very nicely stated. Calculating & just waiting to kick some a$$ (with nice knockers). I dig that! :)

yep, sort of. It's a bagel and I don't know if it is technically a mobius strip but I thought it was pretty cool. A mobius bagel would be awesome though, because with that you could cream cheese the whole thing in one swipe, plus you'd maximize your cream cheese surface area....

I think it's because for ages nobody trusted her and expected her to show her true colours as somebody bad, but then as time passed we realised how she ended up in her situation, and eventually warmed to her as being one of the good guys!

LOL! Very nice, TP. Sounds like you've really thought it through as well with the whole cream cheese/surface area. Impressive! :D
