Ben's "Every single LIVING person"

Ben warns that every single LIVING person will die if the freighter people land on the island. Was the word 'living' a clue to the idea that only some people are really 'alive on the island and they're NOT the Oceanic survivors?

yes i am not sure what ben means by this. perhaps some people on the island are not dead but not in their physical bodies?

i'm beginning to think that the oceanic survivors were not meant to survive. ****! hold on, thinking here...what if the island needed young children to continue what ever is happening on the island and the crash was intentional since there was a known pregnant woman on the plane(claire). more on this later...as thoughts begin to develop...

We know that Desmond "accidentally" caused the plane crash...So if that is true it seems it may not have been an intentional crash. You do bring up a good point though. The others cannot reproduce on the island and thus have a desire to steal the children (Walt and Aaron). Possibly to carry on the legacy of the others. And we still haven't really discovered what Walt experienced during his stay with the others either.

I don't really think Ben meant anything by what he said...but to add to this discussion about the children - how about the other children that survived and were "kidnapped" by the Others. And then we later found out that all those people that were kidnapped were actually still alive.

So they do seem to be targeting children and their mothers.
