As more and more time passes I begin to lean towards MIchael is not the one coffin. Michael has something to do with everything that's going on in a wierd kinda way, but for Jack to just have a break down over him just does'nt seem right. Jack was pissed that Michael sold them out to The Others and did'nt really trust Michael from that point on. From the previews for next week it looks like the helicopter is lost or having lots of trouble and who's to say that Michael and Walt were'nt eaten by sharks. Just some random thoughts I would like to share with the community.... Can anyone share thier testimony on this discussion?

i know its a long shot, but, could walt be young michael ? lol, wild thgt i spose'....or could there be more than one walt ? this shows goin' in all kinna directions anyway :)

because Kate knows who is in the coffin and Jack knows then I was presume it would have to be someone from the island. So could it be one of the O6. now there are lots of theories on who the O6 are but I'm still hoping it's Sun and Jin and she would want to go to funeral if it's them. So maybe just maybe it is someone else. So the possibility of the person in the coffin would have to be from F815 and not a good person while on the island......

I still think it is Michael. Someone else being in the coffin doesn't make sense right now. But of course things can always change.

Bunny, my sentiments exactly. I believe the person in the coffin is someone the O6 met after being rescued. Maybe Kates lawyer? Maybe someone that told them they had to lie?

I like the idea of the person in the coffin being one of those who have pushed the conspiracy on the 06. (Maybe even someone Syid helped leave this world) although I wouldn't mind seeing it be Charlotte.

(as for the person in the coffin) I just don't think it's someone from after being rescued. Jack doesn't have a lot to do with Kate in the FF because of Aaron so I don't think they will be mixing in the same circle when on the main-land.

it very well can be a new character that hasnt been met, if it was one we already saw we would have figured it out already, seeing how many people suggest "Jeremy Bentham" and how hes a philosopher could very well be, im repeating myself of what i said in the above link , go check it out
