I haven't been on too many other forums so I don't know if this has been evaluated, but anyway I've watched the pilot episode more times than Paris Hilton's sucked cock, and I always see something I can't work out. When Locke is sat on the beach staring out into the ocean, just before the scene flashes back to Jack Charlie and Kate trekking through the jungle, I can see what likes a black orb fly from the top left and down over the horizon of the sealine. It only lasts a second but it fascinates me...

I think the thing you are refering to is infact Smokie. Its been thought that Smokie(AKA the Black Smoke Monster) either brought down the plane or caused that explosion in the engine or something like that. That part, if its the one im thinking of has been analyzed a lot, and there is tons of Slo-Mo video online about it. Search youtube, im sure you can find it.

Also, not to sound like a prick, but if you could try not to make comments like your first sentence, it would be greatly appreciated. Dont get me wrong, its a great metaphor, pretty funny, but im gonna be a mod here soon and i cant edit yet. i dunno, next time just tone it down or something, lol!

what brought down the plane oceanic 815 was desmond in the hatch. when the computer says system failure, an electro magenetic wave of high power started pulling things that where magentic. hence the plane crashing..

I said either brought down the plane OR caused that engine to explode or something along those lines. Smokie was definetely present on the beach as seen in the still frames
