It was only two words, but does anybody else think it was the voice of Clancy Brown aka Kelvin from the hatch that Desmond "killed"?

When they flashed an image of the person sitting in the chair, his profile looked like John Locke.

During that scene they flash an image of a person sitting in the chair Ben is talking to and I paused it, it looks like John Locke.

No, in an interview with Jorge Garcia (the guy who plays Hurley), he confirms that it was indeed Christian Shepard (Jack's father) in the rocking chair. Here's the article someone had already posted....its pretty interesting and clues us into some new facts about season 4 we didn't know yet.

I think they did a good job in deciding that putting Christian in the chair was much better than Hurley. If it was hurley, I'm pretty sure everyone would know. It makes sense, that Christian is probably dead, but also appears in visions on the island, since I think jacob is just a vision.

You guys are talking about 2 different episodes. The episode w/ Jack's dad was when Hurley was looking through the window. When Locke was in the cabin there was a very fast clip of somebody sitting in the chair. The images I saw of this are really not clear enough to determine definitively who it is. It could be Locke. It also looks like the "brother" from the monestary that fired Desmond. And in the monestary, there was a picture of him with the old lady that told Desmond it was his destiny to push the button.

maybe christian is jacob and thats why he said "help me" because he's scaried the others are going to hurt him thats why he's in the rocking chair maybe he can't get up or something like that or maybe he can't get out of the house because maybe they"ll kill him

The creators have said that any depictions of Jacob up to this point, whether it be an image of him or the sound of his voice, is not to be taken as an indication of who he is. They haven't cast who will play Jacob yet, and it's already been revealed that a member of the production team, I think it was the prop manager or something, played Jacob during one of the times we saw him. So again, it's no use trying to figure out who Jacob is by trying to figure out who the voices or images of him most resemble, because they are not "cannon" so to say.

I'm pretty sure they said the voice was the same guy who says "Previously on Lost" but I forgot which one he is. When you hear him talk you immediately recognize the voice.

Yeah the executive producer Carlton Cuse has said that he did both the "Previously on Lost" and the "Help Me" voice overs. This is just further proof that any speculation regarding Jacob's identity using the images or sounds we have of him so far is useless. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose.

Somewhere there is a theory posted that Ben is both brilliant and insane, and Jacob is like a split personality. I think that would be a fun outcome. Like if he is sending Sayid this list of people trying to track down the top guy who is himself.

Jacob was portrayed by prop master Rob Kyker for the filming of this particular episode (Man Behind the Curtain). Kyker is the property master for the production crew. The second time we see "Jacob" he takes the form of Christian.
The voice is confirmed as Carlton Cuse.

No Jacob was seen with Christian. Christian on the island is a
manifestation of the monster, who seems to have big links to
Jacob. The writers have said that Jacob will be his own character
when it comes to that time. The voice was of Carlton Cuse.
And bunnydixon yes I agree I have said all this stuff about
Jacob a thousand times and about Christian, but nobody
wants to believe it.
And before someone asks, yes they did confirm that it was
Jacob in the cabin with Christian, and it was Jacob who
put his eye up to the window
