As we all know Daniel Faraday was the youngest Dr. to graduate from Oxford College and soon after his research was funded by Charles Widmore. Daniel was working on Time Travel experiments with his mouse Eloise funny he names his rat after his mother was this a cheap shot at her. Anyways back to the theory.

To make a science experiment valid there are certain factors to prove your research.:

1) Question.
Can You Change The Future

2) Problem. This states what you are going to solve in a statement form. Using Time Travel I Will Prove That It Is or Isnt Possble To Change The Past or Future.

3) Hypothesis. This is where you make an educated guess as to what the answer will be and explain why you think it will be so. It is not a bad thing to be wrong here - so don’t worry if you guessed right or wrong.

What Ever Happened, Happened You Can Not Change The Future.

4) Materials: This is a list of supplies you will need to complete the project.

An Island With Electromagnetic Anomilies, Unlimited funding, A Frieghtor, Constants, An Airplane, Scientific Stations by the D.I., A hydrogen bomb

5) Procedure: This is a list of steps that a person would do to replicate the project.

Faradays Journal and all listed Materials

6) Data: These are charts, graphs, photographs etc. that support the work you did on your project. Date is usually posted in the middle section below the question.

Data is collected on notebooks from the people maning each of the Stations. All data that is helpful in entered into Faradays Journal.

7) Results: This is the scientific results. This only tells what happened.

Unknown until Season 6

8) Conclusion: This is the statement of what happened and why it happened.
Results and Conclusion Procedure

Unknown until Season 6

9) Daily Log: This is found in a notebook and tells what the student did each day on the project.

Faradays Journal

10) Varibles: Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Jin, Miles, Frank, Locke

The reason I post this theory this way is because I belive that the pieces to this puzzle fit. A science project for Time Travel, Charles and Eloise had been constructing this for Daniel before he was even born. This is why Eloise did not want Daniel to become distracted from his Destiny.

As I said before Daniel was givin a grant by Charles Widmore so that he may do his research, which is on time travel everything is going so/so until Desmond Hume shows from the future and gives him the correct sequence of numbers to move Eloise through time. With out a doubt he learns the errors, which leads him to experiment on humans. Some how Theresa gets caught in the middle and somthing goes wrong with her mind. Not 100% but I think our Losties could be the answer to returning her mind to her. Daniel uses Widmores power and money to get everyone on 815 so that the experiment may take place but in the process Daniel developes short term memory loss. When Daniel starts crying as he watchs the wreckage from 815 he relizes his experiment failed and all the ppl he used has died, but Widmore was sitting right there to assure him that they were fine and that if he would go to the island that he would be ok.

I think that he had to travel to the Island so that the Time Skips would occur and that he would meet his Mother and this would be the inital set up for Faradays future.

There are some holes here but it will be a matter of filling in voids after i get some suggestion and reread a few more articles on the subject.

It does all make sense in the way you put it.I actually like it ,also. The only hole in the thoery is the habitants of the island, such as the bkack rock,Jacob and mib.Where do they fit in?I've researched and watched every show more and more. The name LOST even goes with your thoery.I don't think we have seen the last of doc Faraday.

I think he probably performed experiments in order to answer the central question (Can you change the past with time-travel), when he went to Ann Arbor, presumably back in the 70s. He could have tried a few Hurley moves (a la Empire strikes back) and would have soon found that either he could use his knowledge of 'teh past' to change it, or that there was something preventing him from doing so.

His change of attitude when he got back to the island, seems to suggest what the result of those experiments might have been...

I like it - it is almost like Jacob is his scientific adviser - he selected the "best" possible variables for the experiment. As for him crying when he saw the plane crash - even after he found out from Charles that his variables were OK he still had the other few hundred deaths on his hands, no? If the the Losties were pre-packaged to enter the experiment why didn't he find a way to get them there without so much collateral damage? Well to that I say - perhaps all the casualties are the Whispers we hear? So maybe they are in fact part of the equation/experiment as well in some manner....OK now I am just rambling
