When we see the flashbacks/flashforwards each episode - that is them actually 'mind leaping' - like Desmond was tonight.

NO...what about patchy.....he tried to cross the electric fence like barrier to the others world....he had a nose bleed attack....maybe the fence triggers the time shift????Patchy has died how many times now???

Locke could have been exposed to the heavy radiation because he was still right there inside when the hatch ex(im)ploded. Charlie and Eko could have as well but that is a moot point because they are dead. Or are they? lol

it wasnt som much radiation that desmond took it was electromagnitisim... and he definatly got more then the losties...ever since then he was the only one haveing little "flash forwards" hence him saving charlie so many times... i think he is the only one the electromagnitisim effected... another thing i thought about was he was the only one there that wasnt on the plane originally or the helicopter. maybe the bearing (or pont of entry) to the island was different for desmond there for he had to leave on a different bearing... thoughts?

I like your idea about des having a different entry point than the ones from the plane or the freighties. However sayid did not have any ill effects (yet) and im sure the entry point for the plane was different than the way they left on the helicopter so if that is the reason des got affected should it not affect sayid as well.

I thought it happens when you leave the island? and it's only for some people. It doesn't happen to everyone. (just come up with a theory, check it out - Wonder if it happens to any O6)

maybe in some cases not so drastic. As long as they have an anchor someone to connect them. For instance Boone and Shannon had each other. If you notice through out the seasons everyone bumps into everyone so maybe that is all you need. Boone is in the police dept Sauyer walks by. Jin has Herley winning lottery in tv. Sayid asks Shannon to watch his bag. Jack meets Anna Lucia. Anna, Sauyer, Claire, meet Jacks dad. You can go on forever. It would be hard to explain but do able. Also only certain people get side effects doesnt mean that they are not going in and out of time. Good thought.
