Theory - Smoke Monster - The Langoliers?

Now with the "mind leaping" showing up it made me think about the Stephen King book/movie "The Langoliers"

Do you think the smoke monster could be something like that?
I won't say anything about "The Langoliers" in case you have not read/seen it.

I have not seen or even heard of it

However the Lost creators are HUGE Steven King fans.

So I'm sure there is some influence

Heh, heh. That movie was filmed in my hometown of Bangor, Maine (home of King). In fact, two of my cousins were extras in it.

Still, it was a really baaaaaaaaaad movie. But the premise worked. But the smoke monster being a Langolier-type of creature. I dunno.

Thanks for that info. Read the synopsis and thot the time catching up idea was interesting.Our smoke monster doesn't seem to devour everyone as it let Eko live for a while altho why that happened who knows. Maybe, like the Langoliers, the smoke monster will devour everything including the island once what holds it back is damaged or removed.One of SK's favorite themes is special children, esp evil children. the L's are small and have ravenous mouths like they are really hungry. Maybe he has too many growing kids!
