What's up with the DHARMA van? Is it not weird that it's moving through time as well?

It's like Sawyers rope... Hugo was leaning on it, and I think Jin was actually inside.

I noticed this too, and for a split second I was like what if everything from 1977 went with them and they're really all underwater and they're gonna drown soon!
And then I was like, whoa, not even LOST would do that!

Hmmm, could the "Work Man" skeleton they found be Jack then, and something different happened to them following the previous 'the incident' they were involved in?

Very intriguing thoughts there Chester. Roger "Workman," aka Ben's daddy was gased in a van with beer cans and later found by Hurley and Sawyer and Jin. Hmmm. Only thing is this, the show has been paralleling events, dialogue and actions since the very beginning and this is just one of them I think. I did not catch that one though so that was excellent Chester!!!
How about this one....the mark on Jack's neck on the flight. It is the same mark that Daniel had from being grazed by a bullet in the DI shootout scene. I also find that interesting....but I haven't a clue as to what it means quite yet. The only thing that's been floating in the back of my mind is that Daniel Faraday is a young MIB and now maybe it has taken the form of Jack but that is sooooo far fetched I really don't believe myself. lol

You mean my own theory that I don't believe??? lol :cool: It all started because of you actually. When you were posting about that last poster at the 1888 Gallary or where ever it was. You also posted a picture that someone had done with MIB sitting at a table surrounded by all kinds of memorabilia from LOST. There was a framed picture of Dan on the table next to him and I thought that they really kinda looked similar. I looked at screen cap photos and they do look very similar. Just like the young Ellie and the older Eloise. But, the only thing is, I can't make it work no matter how hard I've tried!!!! I can't explain away some stuff with Eloise and Dan, so, IDK. But, it's all your fault!!!!

not in the way i did before the episode. However, I do not think the thought in its entirety is dead because of smokeys conversation with ben about locke's final thoughts OFF ISLAND when he died. that conversation made it sound like smokey was in lockes head a very long time. now, perhaps that's explained by how smoke reads your thoughts. but to know what his last thought was off island...idk.
also, knowing what the last thought was is reminiscent of what miles can do, don;t you think.
so, i pretty much see the theory blown to bits, but there are still some aspects that might play out. you know, because i am right sooooo often.

You and Chester's convo is fascinating. I don't think Hurley's future looks so bleak though and I don't think he's being "used" by Jacob.
Okay, think of Bram and company as Jacob's bodyguards (said by deadLocke last night) and think of Richard as his "Luitenant" or second in command. Hurley is his Messanger and kind of spirit guide. Didn't Hurley save the losties when they were captured by the Others a few seasons back, when he ran over whatshisname with the DI van? He has been speaking with people on "the other side" who are advising him and he delivered a message to Dogan from Jacob. I see a good future for him. I hope.

well, name one person's story whose communion with the island/smokey/jacob via special powers has ended well?
thats what i mean. it ain't looking good for des either.
maybe this is the beginning of the answer to why theses people? because they make good tools. but they are tools with free will and their own agenda. however that will and agenda may or may not be strong enough to overcome the controlling factor. locke's was not.

But Locke never really had a communion with the Island.
He and everyone else were led to believe he did have one.
It was all MIB/Smokeys doing that made his walk again and made him know things like when its going to rain.
Think last nights episodes also throws out the window the theory that Locke was always MIB.
Seems iLocke spoke of JL as a completely separate individual person that was a "pathetic" person

Yes, and I am focusing on the last part of that statement:
"...one might consider the power of the human spirit and the force that liies in one's own free will." I read that as a definite TCC hint.

Smoke Locke said he remembered dying when Ilana asked him where he came from at the end of season 5. He told Ben what was going through John's mind at the end... When John was little he drew a picture of the smoke. I think it's possible that he always was John.
Other dead people made comments about their deaths. Charlie remembered dying. Jacob remembered dying.

i agree. as things have been described thus far.
you must understand that i have a hard time associating free will with TCC exclusively. morally and ethically and in the realm of justice it makes no sense that free will is implicated in the conversation about changing what has already been done. you made a choice. there were consequences. you cannot undo that. you have to learn and move on. i just do not understand why this suffocates free will. I do - somewhat - understand it in the context of quantum mechanics and the science of time travel. but, that seems like a very unique situation. and i think time travel is only one small aspect of lost, and thus when it asks the question destiny or free will, i think that its bigger then "destiny or free will in the context of time travel."

Might be off topic by now, but as mentioned earlier, Jack as the body in the Van Hurly fixed. Not likely, unless Jack was wearing the wrong Jumpsuit. The body in the Van said Roger, Workman. Which is why Hurly mistakenly thought his name was Roger Workman. Corrected by Sawyer who dubbed the man Skeletor. So unless Jack and Roger were, sharing clothes close, and Jack somehow finds another avenue for Timetravel this season, I think we can put this one to bed.

Nope... not weird.... we learned in Season 3 that objects that are in contact with people who are moving through time move along with them.... their clothes, the rope that Sawyer used to lower Locke down the well, and some other items. The van, their jumpsuits, the beer.... all moved to the future with them
