I am not seeing much talk of the whispers. We seem to know that they come from this new group of others, but not much else. What do you all make of it?

if thats all there is, its anti-climactic. will we learn who they make themselves invisible in the jungle of mystery? and if they have been watching the losties all along, why did they ask who they were, and cindy had to tell them? i'm not sure that's all there is...:confused:

maybe when they end up in 2007 it's in the 2007 that has actually resulted in the timeline of 2004 that we're seeing? just with the original people and their backgrounds together.

Ah I'm glad you brought this up...I was thinking that last night as I was watching that the temple people must be the ones behind the whispers :) I mean its not for sure but they definitely revealed some whispers once the losties entered the temple...hmmm :confused::confused:

I hope that the answer to the whispers isn't "it was always just the Temple Others." all the backward stuff...or the knowledge of things from there lives pre Island....the Temple Others didn't even know who/what there names were/are.....so how'd they "whisper" facts about them from there lives off Island?

I know orson, I reeeeally hope that's not the answer.....I have a working theory on the whispers and I hope I'm not dissapointed!!:eek:

I'm thinking that was done to frighten Danielle into doing what they wanted. But I'm wondering--could the "whispers" be the overlapping voices of people in the other timeline?? I mean, what if the boundaries are weaker in some parts of the island?? This would allow people to "hear" that other dimension. It would scare the crap out of anyone else and Ben and the Others exploited that. If you didn't know where it came from it would be pretty scary.

I also hope the whispers come up once again (like im sure u guys do), and also that the whispers are eventually explained!! It does seem they have been somewhat forgotten amidst all the other crazy stuff that is currently goin on, but to me the whispers are one THE BIG mysteries on the show and it would a terrible shame if they were not resolved.

I think the whispers are the "Watchers" since the introductiong of the Creepy kid in the Jungle, I think the are previous contenders watching the game unfold as spectaters.

Yeah, I'm guessing that the whispers are from the people who have died on the island. I love the term "watchers". That's perfect! :)

I think they sort of hinted to the whispers in ab aeterno. At first Hurley was translating the whispers for Richard. However, after awhile its like he was holding a conversation without Hurley. I believe that he was "hearing" the whispers

That's an interesting way of looking at it, 3-D. It very well could be but I still get a sense the whispers are from those who have died on the island, not loved ones of those who are still on the island. Boy, I could very well be wrong but that is just the sense that I get while reading the transcripts of the whispers.
