Anyone catch who owned the Black Rock ledger before it was sold?

Hanso owned it. Of The Hanso Foundation, which if I remember correctly launched the Dharma Initiative.

I thought that was very clever. So whatever is in that book led Hanso to begin exploring the island, and then Penny's dad to launch a "research" mission there.
