Loose threads (a catch-all topic now that we know time travel is happening)

Now that we know that time travel is involved - what does this say about other oddities of the series? I'll write a few down...here's where we can conjecture what time travel could mean for these items:

1. The numbers

2. The Monster

3. Jacob

4. Jack's dad (Christian Shephard) being on the island

5. Pregnancy problems on the island

6. The 4-toed statue

7. Eko / Yemi odd visions

8. Locke's vision of Walt


I'll add more mysteries as people bring them up - my brain's so full I can't think anymore right now.

Faraday says that perception of time on the island isn't the same as off the island. However, the calendar on the ship is marked correctly(in terms of what the islanders think it should be).

Or did I miss something?

It's a good point. It isn't right. I just posted about something similar in the Helicopter Ride & Time thread...I'm gonna sleep on it and think about it for real when I get to work tomorrow. Nighty night.

No, you didn't miss a thing. That is how it marked...but I think you said something interesting: "in terms of what the islanders think it should be"!! Maybe the freighters put that there on purpose for them to see.......I guess we'll find out.

Can someone take a still shot of the calendar shown in the episode? I remember seeing a lot of X's on it, but there was a series of 3-4 days near the left side of the calendar that did NOT HAVE X'S ON IT. I want to know what days those were on the calendar.

We know that the freighter people weren't trying to trick the losties because they didn't know they would be there - they weren't supposed to be brought to the freighter. Also, Desmond told Penny he'd call on Chritmas Eve 2004, and it was that time for her too. So, the island time is in fact operating in the same time as the rest of the world.

I haven't checked it out yet for particular days, but the days are marked in three colors.. The days that looked blank are really Xed with yellow. I'm going to check some days on Lospedia, but if anyone else notices anything, please post it!

well that would make total sence, its obvious that the freighter is OUTSIDE the BUBBLE of time.....or the heli wouldnt have 2 go thru it !!
