Who did Desmond say that to?

Was it Jack in the stadium? I can hear his voice, but I can't picture the scene..

If it happened to be Jack, then that would solve the whole changing the future thing, because Desmond in 1996 would have had "flashes" of the future, aka the present, during the same time he was having his travelling back moments.

So 1996 Desmond would have flashes of the island, but not really know what they mean until he meets up with Jack while running.

Or, I could be totally wrong, and it could mean nothing.

Does anyone remember?

Oh wait, or does he say it to Charlie when he sees him during Flashes?

Its not Jack (maybe). I just watched season two epi were Des has gun to lockes head in the hatch(very first time in the hatch by locke) and Jack sees Des and recognizes him.

But is Desmond everyones costant? He seems to have met all the Losties in the past.

Desmond remembers Jack because they met while running the stairs in the stadium, so I think that part is explained, but I can't remember who Desmond said it too.

I think it really was Charlie, which also makes sense because that whole flashy thing happened during island time.

Oh well.. it would have been cooler if he said it to Jack the first time they met!
