OK, we heard MIB say, "they come, they fight...yada yada yada", right? What if he and Jacob are also entities that come, fight etc...and there is yet a higher power than them? We all kind of assume it started with them.

Have you ever seen the movie "Clash of the Titans" ??

There is a large part of the movie where the Greek Gods are sitting on their thrones in Olympus, and watching the goings on down on Earth....they look into a clay collesium, for example, and place the figures of their favorite figures in it....that makes their people on Earth go into the Collesium and do- whatever.

I'm wondering if the MIB and Jacob essentially are doing the same thing?

Well, either that, or something bigger than MIB and Jacob playing them against each other...which then kames all of the others, losties and Dharma other players in the game.

WOW !!!! I can't believe how close you guys are to exactly what I have been thinking all along. For clearity I think you must do a Google search on the story of "Enlil and Enki". These were the offspring of A God known as Anu. Guess what???? They originated from another planet known to the Sumerians as Nibiru. They were both left here on Earth until the planets return which is every 3,600 years. Jacob (Enlil) tells Smokie (Enki): "They are coming". BINGO !!!!! I am serious about this. I believe the writers are taking a WHOLE lot from this story that has been recorded by the Sumerians on tablets that were recently found and translated.
