If the shack truly did exist and it wasn't just a figment of Hurley's imagination, could it have been Christian Shepard in the flesh? He looks like his normal self in the screen capture. He's not dead looking, his clothes aren't all dirty, etc. He looks pretty alive to me, rocking in the chair.

Shepard's body was on the plane, so there's a good chance his casket fell somewhere on the island. Who's to say the island didn't bring Christian Shepard back to life? Mikael has died several times and mysteriously come back. Several of our losties have experienced accelerated healing and reversal of terminal diseases.

So if the island felt Jack's dad was truly a good person and was worth reviving, whose to say the island didn't choose to bring Christin Shepard back to life??

I may be reaching here...just an idea that popped into my head with all the reading I've been doing today...

it might be christian shepards body. good idea, but i think hurley is goin a little nuts. and mikhail didnt die at all. the first time when he was put through the elctromagnetic fence, he even said to ben it wasnt put at a lethal level. hence he didnt die. and when he got shot by desmond in the looking glass station, sure he was bleeding, but his lifesuit thing could have taken most of the damage. but the whole cabin thing was interesting. if it is christian shepard, when did ben meet him and start taking orders from him? i mean if "jacob" is christian, that means he arrived there 90 some days ago. who did ben take oreders from before??

New here. Luv the site. Lost fan since day 1.
Anyway here are my ponderings...
Hurley has always been able to "see/communicate" with the dead. This maybe is why he was in the mental ward previously. The island somehow allows him to "share" his abilities with those around him (Jack seeing his Dad, etc.) Hurley hates his abilities and wants to escape them.
Any thoughts on Hurley perhaps being a communicator with the dead before he came to the island??

The island does do weird things. I don't know if anyone else remembers but, Jack did find his father's casket in the first season when he found the cave, only his father's body wasn't in it. And it was him in the rocking chair in the cabin the Hurly saw and it looked Patchy's good eye looking through the window at Hurly.
