What happens to Desmond when he leaves the island (split realities, one in mind one in body)

Wonder if it happens to any O6 when they leave and if they cope. Who knows if Claire leaves and doesn't know she has a son that could be weird (well Des doesn't have any memory of the island, so Claire wouldn't have any memory of Aaron)

that could even be why Kate has Aaron.

well by the end of the ep, it would seem that island desmond was his regular island self again and past desmond was not longer taking over him - due the the phonecall i think.

however, the mind moving does ask lots of questions - if it did happen though, i think it wouldnt last long as there was the whole aneurysm issue. but could you move to someone elses body as well as your own?
