View Full Version : Tome trave etc ye ye bla bla but....
I think the writers are trying to change thier first intenions to the story -
All this time travel talk is good and all but in my eyes its changed LOST a lot.
I mean come on too much time travel talk is going on - are people forgeting the fact of that people off the ireland (some of them - mainly jack) are Desperate to get back and looks as is something so terrible is going on there!
I seriosuly think people are letting there theorys go a little soft right now - there is a lot more to it that all this time travel stuff is steering peoples mind away from what we have mainly learned / seen up to this point
was it the writer strike? i dunno but i feel they are changing it.
I dnt think Jack would be in such a mess to get back there if it was a simple case of people attacking the ireland or time travel - i think its going to turn out a whole lot MORE!
edit: Post should be called - Time Travel

How do you think the writer's strike had anything to do with episodes that were completed before the strike?

Question, when has this show ever not changed?
We went from crash survivors landing on a deserted island with some kind of monster in the jungle, to the others, to the hatch and dharma, a smoke monster, jacob, time travel, etc. If there is one pattern to this show, it's that the story is always evolving into more and and more.
And I'd like to know, what do you think the "original intentions" of the show are?

these episodes were already filed prior to the strike, so that doesn't have anything to do with it.
Before the forum went all haywire, there was a LOT of talk about time travel being a possiblity. And mostly this was discussed b/c some explanation is going to have to take place to explain Walt's growth (as it's been a few years since we've seen him <except when Locke saw him after Ben shot him> and in our real world he's grown and changed alot) as well as explain how Richard hasn't aged any.
And as for Jack wanting to get back to the Island I think it's guilt that he is feelillng about h aving left all those other people behind. We all know Jack is a stand up kind of guy who wants to do the right thing. He's thinking he left 30-40 some people back on the island that want to leave but now can't because A. they've been paid off not to tell or B. they can't get back or C. their lives are being threatened or something is going. There are secrets being kept (as we learn from when Jack and Hurley meet up off the island) and we know some sort of settlement was reached b/c Jack has a Golden Pass to fly whenever and wherever he wants. He says he needs to go back (to Kate, I think he actually said WE have to go back) and I'm sure thats to rescue everyone else. At least I'm sure now, but we could end up with a twist in the next weeks to change that.
if i knew that i'd be a rich man i think
I mean i think watever intensions they did have they have now changed them -
A island a monster polor beers , the others - are all wierd things when linked together but i feel bringing in time travel is a stupid way to take the next 'change' to the show
They could of done anything and still can.... but i think this route was a rubbish one - my oppioin others may think differnt

as for Walt, they might have to get another one, somebody else to play Walt. Reason, they, the survivors been on the island 90+ some odd days. but it's been a couple of years since Michael and Walt, in real time, left the island. So, how can the writer have Walt grow in a short amount of time...90days of the island is 90 days off the island, since it's close to Christmas 2004 ????
also walkt would be in his teens off show now - growing / changing very fast indeed

I think the time shifting is going to be an accidental and not controlled happening. If it was something that was being used by Dharma or anyone else they would have already known about the need for the constant and Minkowski(sp?) and the other guy would not have had to die. It may be part of what their true objective for the island is among other things. Possibly Farraday's reason for being there (I think each of them have a specific purpose for being sent there and may or may not be related to each other's) is to experiment with his already proven (albeit on a much smaller scale) theories on time travel. I do not think that it is going to be a widespread thing that everyone is using/subject to.

i think each season focuses on opne element of the show more than the others. the first season was about the mysterious island and the crash and setting it all up for us etc... the second season was about dharma and the hatches, the third about the others and now this one is more about travelling to and from the island so far, is it do-able and whats happenening off the island.
i dont think they could get away with saying its all entirely about time travel as that just would not explain everything. there is far more to it than that.
