I posted a LOT last night and I had a pretty good theory that the writers messed up last nights episode ... wait ... maybe they did and that's why my posts got deleted!
It's a major cover-up!:eek:;)

Well, you remember how Penny now seems to hate Desmond? Then how Desmond told Penny he wouldn't talk to her for eight years?
Then some years later Penny tracks Desmond down and talks to him at the stadium where he and Jack first met in season two.
She said how she loves Desmond and will always wait for him.
That doesn't add up.
Sure, she could have had a change of heart, but wouldn't his visit to her while she hates him have been brought up then?

in 1996 she was royally pissed with him, he broke up with her for no reason and buggered off to the army. the same year he promised her he wouldnt hassle her for 8 years.

they met up in 2001 (?) again as SHE tracked him down, he kept his word and didnt hassle her so why bring it up then or perhaps that was a past in which desmond had not gone back yet and changed things? or maybe she had forgtten about it and only remembered when he did actually call?

But, how could she forget?
She was complaining that he didn't write her.
He promised he would have no contact.
It just seems that she would have brought it up at the stadium.
I just doesn't match up.
I wrote it much better last night, but I just woke up and my brain is mushier than usual:D

i think the only way round it is to say we saw them at a point in which the past had not yet been changed - and it was just a subtle change.

the writers have done it before - look at the frames in that house in miles flashback.

sometimes i think the writers fib a little!

Well, if the writerS DO lie, then I see no problem with what happend last night.
It was a GREAT episode, they just need to come clean and say that the past CAN be changed.
