I posted this in another thread but I dont know if anyone is going to read it so i thought Id repost it as I think it is a good theory. what if the others looking for a host to put jacobs spirit into? That would explain why they are always looking for a special child. and thats why richard is never the "leader" he is trying to find a special child and then they will do some ancient others ceremony and try to ressurrect jacob

I understand what you are saying, maybe I didnt say correctly. I think there is one special person or whatever the others have been waiting for to bring jacob back with. it could be a sacrifice or he enters their body or something. the others are very much like a cult, they have all the ancient stuff going on. I think its a solid theory, it makes as much sense as the fact we already know they are looking for a special leader. people have suggested it is locke, jack, aaron, walt, even hurley. but it isnt really explained why or what that person is going to do. even if its the dumbest idea ever it adds up more then charlie is desmonds son, vincent is jacob or widmore is his own father - all theories that everyone seems to get behind.

Its not really the actual story but I think it was a pretty good guess with the info given at the time.

I don't follow. What exactly about your theory was correct? I mean, Jacob was still alive during all that time, so why are they looking for a child for him to embody?

I suppose it still could be... someday?
