How many "episodes" in season 6? 16/18?

Hey Everyone,

I bet someone that Lost Season 6 was 16 episodes vs 18 episodes (they said).After searching a bit I see many sites saying it is 18 episodes. However, this ABC press release http://www.abcmedianet.com/assets/pr/html/020310_07.html says "At the end of its sixth and final season, "Lost" will have aired 114 episodes (121 episodic hours)."

That would mean season 6 has 16 episodes, or 18 episodic hours. And, for previous seasons, Each night is an episode, rather than each broadcast hour.

What answer would you give / choose. Who wins this bet, and who can offer other data to weigh in on either site of the argument?

An episode has it's own name. Putting a number behind the name doesn't make it a separate episode. That's just my opinion though.

I was serious! I found a list with like 12 episodes. The last of which was -- okay I probably shouldn't say because of the whole spoiler thing. I thought the list I had was incomplete?? If you could send them to me, that would be great :D

to OP, i think its a draw. there are 18 hours, because the premier and finale are 2 hours long, but only 16 episodes. call it a truce and by each other a beer.
