All Island Humans Have A Past babies conceived ON the island

All Losties, Others, Jacob,Aaron, Alex, freighter people, etc., have a past that existed OFF the island.The babies conceived On the island wouldn't.On another thread some very smart person mentioned this. Is this the key to survival?Seems simple enough, but what do you say?
