I was checking lots of sites after the show and I found this site interesting esp with the mention of "plant seeds" because if u remember when sawyer, khttp://www.apa.org/monitor/oct03/mental.htmlate and alex rescue carl from room 23.....on the brainwashing video....it says...."plant seeds"....are the others brainwashing people so that "seeds are planted in regards to saving our humanity....our earth" in order to alter a catostrophic future????Hope that made some sense...LOL!!!

sound familiar???(Daniel)
patient could solve math problems, but he couldn't remember ever taking a math class, or, for that matter, couldn't recall how he came to Tulving's office for an interview. Similarly, the patient knew from semantic memory that his family owned a lake house two hours away. But he had no memory of ever visiting it, and no idea when he'd likely

wow - thats really fascinating stuff even on a non lost level. I find all this kind of stuff interesting anway. but it could be linked to the show - especially the mental time travel. are we really travelling in time or is it all psychological?

Interesting, but it can't be all psychological since people have experiences together and retain recollections of those same experiences.
The ability to remember something in the past exactly as it happened could be looked at a form of time travel, but it sounds more like another way to define a vivid memory.
When you get old and crazy and think your at some point in your past - Now that's time travel! It's also time to start wearing adult diapers....

This was a GREAT find! How many times a day do you connect with the past and the future? Loads. Tulving's ideas illustrate the tragedy of Alzheimer's and other degenerative neuro diseases in that you become Lost in the present until you seem to cease to exist. Lost writers are a prime example of the brain/mind ability to be constantly aware of the past and the future.I say that Chronesthesia is very much a part of what Lost is all about whether or not you give it that name. Is Jacob (Help me!) losing his ability to constantly be aware of before the island and after the island? If so, of all of the people on the island, he may be most lost.
