If Michael and Walt leave on a boat and don't go the exact right way will they have the same experience as Desmond and Mankowski and his buddy? Is that why Walt can keep coming back or is Locke Walt's constant? Oh that Island is something;)

probably it could be the same if they don't follow the coordinates.....maybe thats their excuse for walt looking more aged and mature..lol...no but really i think that they do follow the coordinates maybe they end up running into the frieghtors at some point....walt can come back cuz remember he has those special powers and telekenesis and can just pop up all over the place

Just before Shannon died, she saw Walt. Walt had given her Vincent to take care of...

Walt appeared to Locke after Ben shot him. Locke befriended Walt (had taught Walt how to throw a knife and to mentally focus)...


I sense these tidbits are more than coincidences. But it is hard to tell at this point. Walt may have selected Shannon as a constant initially, then switched his choice to Locke.....

they went on diff bearings but they left from diff points so this could be why?

I think they have to be exposed to large amounts of radiation or electromagnetism in order to be affected like Des and Minkowski.

i doubt it. remember what daniel asked jack about desmond. "has desmond been exposed to high levels of radiation or electro-magnetism?" i also think that's why daniel is using desmond as his constant, because he had prolonged exposure to radiation in his experiment with eloise.

Wouldn't Daniel have given him a vest then anyway? He said Desmond did not need one. Unless Daniel did that intentionally, but that is a big risk not knowing Desmond and his fate.
