Was anyone else very dissapointed by the actions of Jack when he first sees John? He actually tried to kill him...! Jack was my #2 fav after John, but after this episode the writers have made him into a cold blooded killer. Booo Jack! Down on my rating :(

John has always been my favorite character in the series for his devotion to uncovering the truth about the island, despite his short period of "losing faith" and almost blowing everything up... and his personal moments of helping each person on the island with their own separate issues including Jack. But the Jack character is unable to even admit the island is a special place. Very close minded, even after his own experience with the islands powers. They both have their issues, but I was really surprised when Jack actually pulled the trigger to kill John. Quite a failure for his character in my eyes.

I just want to put that out there as Jack appears to be portrayed as a great leader who does the right thing... tisk tisk. John shouldn't have thrown the knife into Naomi... but the island is the shiznit! Hehehe. Peace. Take me there!

I agree thta Jack has always been held in too high of regard. I cannot understand why he was so adament about not needing to push the button in S2 even though he saw the movie, the magnetism and concrete etc.

Also in S1 he was a sleep deprived raving lunatic and Kate slipped him a sedative.

So his reputation of being so great is overblown at least.

yeah i am a locke fan and dont think jack is all that great - he has a lot of flaws but then as the series unfolds, we find out they all do!!!

even more annoying - what is the big deal about kate? she is so obnoxious and has no redeeming qualities at all! she is the character i like least.

Yeah he appears to have the Napoleon Complex lately. My way or the Highway. The way he shoved Juliette down everyones throat. And yet he is easliy manipulated by Juliette. Ben is the puppetmaster!!!

C'Mon guys think about this now. Jack wasn't always like this, its just he's had a bunch of crazy women in his life and he's gone mad. Just think about this. First he fixes that hot blonde chick sarah's spine and she gets rid of him like old meat. C'Mon! Then that crazy asian chick who was all over him with all that exotic ****, then she turns his ass in to those asian mafia guys who beat his ass. C'MON!!! Then He tries to hook up with Kate, u know the pretty brunette next door, all american home grown country girl every guy wants, but no, He saves her ass again and again, and she screws off with Sawyer, WTF?? Bull. C'MON again!! No wonder this guy went A-Wol. I'd go mad too. Give Jack a break, I think he needs a little alone time. He's had just a rough a time as locke with his whole dad thing.:D

Jack is pissed at Locke for good reasons. If I were Jack, I'd be pissed at him too. I am not so sure I'd have pulled the trigger but I would be pissed. I think him pulling the trigger was more because Locke told him that he wasn't just as Jack did earlier but in thins case, Jack was showing the rest of the people that he is a man of action and not all talk. As if he was thinking (see, I told you that I was serious about pulling the trigger, I'm not like Locke who doesn't back up his threats! (That is in reference to Locke backing down when he pulled the gun on Jack in the S3 fianlly)).

Locke has stood in Jack's way since they landed on the island. Locke has a history of making the wrong or bad decisions and Jack has figured this out. He sees Locke's actions and thinks that he is unknowingly missleading the rest of the Losties and Jack sees himself as the only beacon of wisdom.

It doesn't help that Ben went with Locke too.
