Hold on. Didn't Minkowski say that Penny kept calling the boat? She has the number to the boat.

Why would she say to Charlie "What boat?" She must know full well about the boat.

Oh I suppose she didn't know about it when she reached Charlie but now she knows about it and the research on the island?

Then why did she hear from teh eskimos in teh polar station in S2?

She knew before the end of S3.

Yes i was a little confused when desomnd told penny that he wouldnt talk 2 her until dec 24th 2004, and that was in 1999, but what i dont understand, he in *timeline* talks and see's penny again in 2002-03 before he takes off 4 the race around the world? There is so many questions to be answered, even going back 2 season 1? So much unknown that keeps getting bypassed cause there are so many NEW questions on every new episode!!

i also thought she saw him before he left on his boat trip. maybe since he went back in the past the future changed slightly so he didn't see her before he left. maybe not. its all so confusing now

i think that first ....charlie said is that ur boat and she said what boat???i don't think that she knew about a boat....i think that she was able to determine some idea of a location when the EM hatch blow up occurred cuz she had the 2 guys in the antartica who detected it and called her at the finale.....they said they could locate it.....remember u need a specific compass bearing to get to the island....she was trying to communicate on that frequency and was able to get the boat and the looking glass...both off of the island....i think that the island is in another dimension...ie ...the other side of what looked like a storm or black hole.....oh crappy...did that make any sense

When Desmond went back in time, however he did that ? , he went back to 1996, 8 years before the frighter. He told Penny, whom he had broken up with before that he would not call her again until Christmas eve 2004.
The fact the she saw him before the boat race wasn't his idea, she found him not the other way around. Then in 2004, when Desmond was loosing it. That's when he said , told Penny, that he would contact her.....
