Any ideas on what could have happened to these 2 for so long?? I know that Locke sees Walt on occasion to "guide" him, so are we to assume he is dead as well?

I think Michael might be on the Freighter headed towards the island. Thats just my opinion.

Well the last time he was heard from was the season finale of season 2, correct? He and Walt left on a boat. I think he will be re-introduced sometime this season. He's been gone too long.

Yes, the Others kept their word and let them leave on a boat. That was the last we saw of Michael...but Walt comes back every now and then as a vision for Locke. I agree it's been way too long and they need to play them back in.

Well there is the theory that It's micheal in the casket. Not to be racist or anything but the funeral home seemed to be in a black community. Nobody went to his funeral because he backstabbed them all in order to get him and his son off the island. That is why Kate is angry at the fact that Jack asked why she wasnt at the funeral.

As for Walt, we know he has some sort of powers which is why the others were so interested in him and called him "special". He wasnt at the funeral because he porbably got into an argument with his father for just leaving everyone behind on the island (no other ideas on that point lol). Walt will probably make another appearance (other than locke's guide) in the show because he has powers which could be similar to Jacobs?

To sum things up, Micheal and Walt will make an appearance eventually lol

Well it's true that when Jack drives up in his jeep, there are three black dudes hanging out around what looks like a barber shop. Then across the street there is a white/Hispanic person with a bandanna on there head walking in front of the parlor, and behind it looks like some white people walking. The funeral dude is black. So maybe they play on the black thing to confuse us. I don't see why it would be considered a black neighborhood. But it could be Michael, 'cept for the coffin size that bugs me, it doesn't fit right. I still think it's Ben.

My theory is that Ben went back and got Walt shortly after they let Michael and Walt leave. Walt was so important to them for what he could do and teach them and they suddenly let him go? Doesn't make sense to me. To round it out...Michael is in the coffin. He was planning a trip to go back and had contacted Jack about the prospect. Kate knew about it to which is why her response to Jack's "We have to go back!" was not followed up with a "why do we" but with a "no we don't". But with this show, theories are like bellybuttons. Everyone has one.

I know man. Where are those 2? I used to live in Honolulu(moved back to mainland last June) and got to see many of the places where they film Lost so naturally I got really into it. Anyway, the season premiere last night was great. I think they're all mentally drained and going crazy from the insanity of the island. I don't even remember exactly what the last episode was where we got to see Michael or Walt. Pretty insane that many of the survivors chose to take Locke's side over Jack.

i always thought it could be sawyer.....there's reasons why it wouldn't be like

a.) why would kate not go?.....maybe he does something to her later on down the line
b.) kate told jack at the end of season 3, that she has to get back home, because "he" might wonder where she is...

but it could be sawyer, because he never was really close to anyone on the island, and he conned eveyone else he knew off of the island..........maybe he cons kate in some way down the line?

but Michael and Walt is an interesting story.......I'm thinking Walt offed his father.....

I never did understand why the others allowed them to the boat. Especially if Ben was worried about drawing attention from the outsiders looking for the island. The boat could maybe make it a few hundred miles on a tank of gas but not to civilization.

I think Walt has already been brainwashed by Ben....I mean he didn't really care for his father to begin with, Ben probably used Walt to get Michael to get Jack, Sawyer, and Kate....and Walt probably set up his father at the instructions of Ben...................these 2 have been one of the more entertaining stories of the show.......things haven't been right with them since Walt was taken off the raft by the others............

I would have went with Locke. There's a lot more going on on that island than Jack ever seems to realize, or at least recognize. He's too much of a "facts" man... HELLLOOO just because there are people coming on a boat doesn't mean they are good. The last time we saw people coming on a boat it was the others coming to take Walt. Locke, more of a "belief" man, seems to have a connection to the island, so I would tend to go with him. Besides, a lot of them weren't going with Locke, so to speak, they were listening to Charlie who used his last minute to warn the survivors that the people on the boat were not who they said they were.

I don't think Walt is dead. After all, we saw Walt all over the island when Shannon kept seeing him and he was very much alive at the time. Therefore, we can't assume that the Walt that John Locke saw was a "ghost" or something, because Walt's dead. I've heard the theory that Michael might be in the casket, and that makes some sense to me, although I still like the theory that it might be Ben.

I think that the black smoke and the foot statue are both the workings of walt. Maybe they got the influence from Michael Chrichton. In one of his novels titled "sphere" one of the characters, who was exposed to the sphere had a very similar ability to walt in that things that he thought of, came up in real life. Another book of his called "prey" deals with a moving cloud of black dust very similar to what is on the island. Any thoughts?

Oh my god I LOVED that book. Great theory for Lost too!

I agree that there is a good chance it is Michael on the freighter. Ben could have set it up so Michael "leaked" the location of the island in order to draw the freighter to the island for some purpose. He then manipulated the survivors to do the dirty work. His appearance in the makeshift jail resembles how he looked while formerly imprisoned and manipulated every one, especially playing Locke vs. Jack as it is happening again.

I think Michael is Ben's man on the boat

I'm going to be honest. I never liked Michael. I think Gonzo may be right too. Which is a bummer. In fact if they never bring back Michael I won't be upset, even the actor that played him sucked. He did, sorry. He can't act. Now Walt is interesting and did anyone see how much he has grown! LOL Locke is like a, "..taller walt." Good stuff.

Sorry Devi...they already confirmed that Michael will be back this season and I agree he probably is Ben's man on the boat..I didn't care for Michael that much either.

I mean think about it, it shouldn't be THAT shocking that Michael would be the one on the boat....he'd do anything for Walt so maybe he had to work for Ben in exchange for Walt or something? We already know that Ben got Sayid to work for him....and I'm sorry but if Sayid can be persuaded to work for him, ANYONE can!

Up until Charlie disabled the Looking Glass station, island communications were being scrambled. Which means that if Ben really does have a man on the freighter, then he must be communicating with that person using a method that was impervious to the scrambling. My guess is that when Michael and Walt left the island and followed the 'magical' coordinates, they ended up getting picked up by the freighter. And Ben's man on the boat is Walt, who has been giving help to Ben (and Locke) who both seem to be operating for the good of the island.
