yeah that's the general consensus... especially because there wouldn't be dark devious music in the background if it were just her own kid named aaron... and matthew fox said they've been off the island for 1.5 years so it can't be hers really... and of course it explains why she won't let her mother see it and why jack doesn't want to see it (either kate did something bad to claire or just took aaron, or he found out he's the half-uncle)

yeah...i've (and DZ) have been posting this even before that episode...S3 finale...we thought that when kate said to jack at the airport i gotta get back to him.....a child...either hers (with sawyer) or aaron....if u saw the preview for next week...i think that maybe claire dies accidentally (maybe jack shoots her )....she wants kate to take aaron and be rescued....this would explain why jack can't stand to see the child...maybe cuz he accid shot her or if not...maybe he felt like he could have prevented her death

I don't think that jack knows that he and claire were bro and sis though cuz u know jack and his wanting to save everyone thing.....if he knew it was his nephew...and he loves kate...don't u think that he would jump on that train and be with her and help raise aaron??

not if it pained him too much to see the kid... he wouldn't need to save aaron in that situation because kate obviously cares for him and now she's got a ton of money...

but i don't think he'll ever find out...i was just throwing it out there as an option but i think it'll be one of those coincidences that only the viewers ever get a chance to find out about (a la Libby giving the boat to Desmond and then her being killed and buried before he showed back up)

I tend to agree with you. I dont think Jack would let Kate raise his nephew. Especially that she is a fugitive. Yeah you take him just give me a call if you get sent to prison. Every time Jack saw Kate he never asked how is he concern for his own family. He dosent know. I think it could be Sawyers maybe Kate lived through child birth on the island. Named him Arron for remembrance of the real Arron. I still think it is deeper than what we see. Jack would not see his own nephew and hand him to Kate to raise cause he cant handle what happened to Claire. Not buying it. Not the Jack we know. I thought of Sawyer in the coffin hope not hope it is empty with fake obituary. To protect who ever was in the paper.

kate would go to sawyers funeral... and as i said before they wouldn't be playing ominous music in the background if it weren't Claire's Aaron... i think someone probably kills Claire (maybe Jack or Kate) or Kate just steals the baby outright because she wants a baby and I'm beginning to think she's barren and can't have one on her own... and i don't really think Jack finds out about his relationship to Claire so he'd have no reason not to let Kate take it but if one of them had killed Claire or Kate stole Aaron then Jack would have plenty of reason not to want to be a party to this... i don't think sawyer ever leaves the island and i think the O6 will be off the island by the end of season 4 and then season 5 could be about Ben's global war with The Economist and season 6 could be about getting back to the island....

heres the problem I have with aaron: they havent been off the island that long for the kid to be that old, at least 3 or 4. If it is clairs, and i agree with most of you that it is, then the two paralell time lines in this season don't intersect. which means the boat is not the way off the island and that what we are witnessing in this future strand is further in the future than we expect. Of course all of this could be mute with the whole time distortion thing. Anybody else think that Micheal is Ben's man on the boat?

first of all why are we jumping to conclusions this is Claires son. think outside reality, and put yourself on the Island, experiments on animals were shown,, then humans,,,,, why would it not be possible that Arron is cloned? Ben is important to someone but WHY????

When he killed Ana Lucia and Libby and led the five to the others, that about cooked his goose in my book. I hope he soon disappears into the briny deep. He is one character I have no tolerance for. If they try to resurrect him and turn him into a bloomin' rose I'm going to be ticked. I wish they'd bring back Eko and Charlie.

There are a few things that need to be considered.

First who is Aaron? Im pretty sure its Claires Aaron. Ill say why in a second.

Second why would Jack stay away from Kate if it was Claires Aaron?

To understand the first you have to understand the second.

The immediate assumption we would all have about Jack not wanting to have anything to do with Kates son is it must be Sawyers kid. But Kate says she is not pregnant in the episode, and though it may be hard to believe, I think she was telling the truth.

Lets look at Jacks relationship with Claire, and also at Jacks personality. First we know that Claire is Christian Shepards illegitimate child. Based on Jacks already rocky relationship with his late(?) father, we can assume that perhaps on finding out that his dad was also unfaithful to his mother, on top of being a douche and a drunk, that Jack may not want to have anything to do with Aaron, seeing him as an embodiment of his dad's all around flakiness.

But there may also be another reason. Jack doesnt like to fail. It hurts him deeply to do so, and, as others have pointed out, perhaps something happened to Claire that Jack blames himself for, and seeing Aaron reminds him of his failure.

Perhaps its a combination of both.

So if Im right, we must also remember that Aaron may very well be the anti-christ, and the whole deal with him and Claire was that Claire was supposed to raise him. Now that Kate has Aaron this opens up finding out just why this kid is so dangerous.

jack doesn't know any of that information at the moment and i don't really think he ever will find out about claire being his half-sister or about what the psychic said about aaron...there would be no one to tell jack about claire except for his father and since he is supposed to be dead (and stay dead) then he'll never find out...... the timeline fits much better for it to be claire's aaron than kate's own baby... that kid was definitely no older than 2 and a half but i think much closer to 2... a 3 or 4 year old would jump out of bed not get picked up by his mother like that... and really i think jack not wanting to see aaron all has to do with the circumstances under which kate took him, either jack kills claire and it's too painful a memory or kate stole aaron and jack thought it was reprehensible...

I just dont see either of those things happening, though its possible. Remember, last season finale, Jack indicated that his father was still alive when he spoke with the other doctor. Not to mention the fact that Christians coffin was empty in Season 1.

but Jack did ID his body during season 1... and the writers/producers have said anyone who was dead is dead, and obviously we have to take what they say with a grain of salt but i think he's dead and i think jack talked about his dad being alive in the flashforward because he was drunk and lifted on the percs

Maybe Jack is the father, and he can't deal with being both Aaron's father and uncle...
