pretty serious yeah. I mean.. I call some politicians stupid because i don't like their policies, or because they say something particularly silly.. but that statement borders on "moronic" :)

Guess you don't follow politics as closely as I do. I have seen many morons in Congress. :D ;)
And, I don't mean policies either!!!! Sad, isn't it?

The stupid shall inherit the Earth. And we have a big head start down here. Lot's of idiots.

The island will... "tip over"? TIP OVER? What the...
I'm surprised that the naval officer of the US House Armed Services Committee interviewing this US congressman kept calling him "sir". How can you respect a man that can't even articulate the dimensions of a small island within 15 seconds, but instead mutters through it for over a minute with no clarity of expression? That goes on about the island tipping over with the increase in population upon it? As if it were some plate balanced on a fulcrum. Sheesh!
I've seen people having gotten off a red-eye flight do presentations far more intelligible. I am shocked at this display of ineptitude. Heck, if a congressman can make over $200k a year for speaking like that, I'm heading into government!

I don't know..I think I follow close enough for the votes I have to make. Sure there are dumb politicians out there. I still think that this guy takes the cake.
Can you think of an example of something more dumb than island tipping?

Yeah, there's this woman in Minnesota, Michelle Bockman. You should hear some of the things that come out of her mouth sometimes.

Thanks Jung. I think we are all now dumber for actually listening to that.(partially quoted from Billy Madison). Seriously though, listening to that has to effect our mental faculties in one way or another LOL

Well these are the type of people that decide the parameters we're supposed to live our lives in, the kind of people that are so out of touch with reality, while you have to actually go to work for your money.

That's a good one - no wonder the Ajira flight didn't land in Guam - it capsized because of the influx of Naval personnel!! That's one mystery solved. Then there's the mystery of how the Admiral kept a straight face.

Heeheee....no kidding!! I think that's why he was scratching his head through the whole thing....to distract himself from cracking up! :D
What a sad commentary on our government.

I was just listening to the radio and heard that the congressman has been suffering from Hepatitis-C. Might explain something - I don't know if the treatments could cause problems. In any case, the leadership shouldn't be putting him out there in situations like this.

Oh geez.... I have no idea what that entails either but I agree completely that he should heal himself rather than put himself in the public eye and face scrutiny. That's really unfortunate.

If the guy is too sick to do the job he should be replaced. Or at least substituted until he is capable. Regardless of the reason for it no one in that state of mind should be voting in Congress. Or doing anything else there.

I just googled "symptoms of hepatitis C" and thinking that an island can tip over if too much weight is on it is the number one sympton.

Yea that or any other random stupid comment made can be one of the symptoms of Hep C. Just imagine if he had hep D or E. You would think Hep A, B and C were bad enough. The way E is contracted alone should tell you the symptoms really "stink" lol

My guess is that Boutte is actually Robert Loggia from another time line... and instead of becoming an actor, he situates himself in the upper echelons of the CIA (or US Army), to mastermind a takeover of the island after Widmore appropriates it from Jacob/MiB.

He's stating that he was using capsizing as a metaphor. Hmm.. he sounded pretty serious when he said it. If you're going to joke about such a thing, put on a slightly sly smile so people know not to take what you're saying seriously.. personally I think he is just trying to cover his ID10T error.
