"once said that some day war would come to this Island." -badLocke.
So who is the wise man? Several people have said this, who is Locke talking about?
(I looked to see if this was already posted. If so point me to it please.)

Widmore told that to John Locke when he was in the hospital in Tunisia. He told John he had to bring them all back so the right side would win.

WAR! Hunh! What is it GOOD FOR? (wasn't the answer "absolutely NUTHIN" ?)
But I wonder...doesn't the word "WAR" by definition mean nation against nation, or at least A LOT of people of one faction against A LOT of people of another. I don't think you can have a WAR with like 20 people on a side - I don't know - I'm just asking another question Boutte, not answering yours.:)

Didn't Ben say the same line back in season 3?"a very wise man once said war was coming to this island".
It may be a quote from a novel.

I agree, maybe they are just using the common term, but wouldn't it be more like the civil war? different factions of the same "nation" fighting against each other? Maybe there are more that we don't know about, maybe it is bringing in people from different time lines?

I think the answer might be a major bit of the story that we haven't been introduced to yet.
