Ello :)
I'll take that house off your hands! I've got abooouuuutt....a tenner :|. What with conversion rates and such I'm sure 10 Scottish pounds is worth plenty :P
If you are scoffing at my offer I put the following match-winning argument forward to you:
Go ooooooooonnnnn
Please?
Glasgow's a bit of a dump and I'm about to embark on a career (other than my one on the high seas :)) and uh...Germantown (not trying to be rude...but that's among the strangest named places I've encountered...although there's a joint between here and St Andrews called "Puddledub" and a village called "Halfway" (**** you not!) ) sounds magic :P Go on...tenner...favour to a fellow Lostie :P

lol :P
Puddledub's a tiny, tiny wee village I just happened to pass on a bus once but "Halfway"...I think that's a brilliant name for a village! It sort of dictates that if you live 20 miles from the village, you can only travel 20 miles past it, lest ye implode the universe and end up on an island in the pacific with guns and sea and sand and smokey and Kate and....wait a minute...*hops in the car*

03-04-2008, 11:41 AM
haha plan :P I'm sure if we head through on a bearing of 305 degrees we'll make it out the other side...then again...time travel looks awesomelicious... lets make it 306...I'll cross the "find a constant" bridge when I come to it :)

hell, just for kicks!
but i dont wanna travel to my past (although there are the odd moments here and there which would be great to relive!), been there, done that, i wanna go to the future and maybe even into someone else :D
not asking much huh? :p

I agree the future would be a much more fun place to be, and someone else's may even be more fun :-) Besides if I went back to the past and could relive it I may not learn from all of my mistakes and who knows where i'd be!

Sorted. We'll travel through Halfway on a heading of 306 degrees in 20 years time. Thus, we have time to sort out constants and when you come back, the present you will jump forward and you'll be all "Whoa! **** hot! I'm on an island with *insert favourite Lost character here* :D"
God I'm sad...and I really should start these blasted sculptures I'm meant to be doing. Damn the internet and its distractions! *goes back to work*

I'm studying Computer Animation and Digital Art and for one of the classes the brief was wide open so I decided to design a few characters and build maquettes of them...random whim...figured the more relaxing aspects of sculpture would be welcome distraction from the major animations I've to make (which, as usual, I've left til the last minute to make a start on...rough 8 weeks ahead! Hope Lost doesn't keep me on here discussing theories too much :P )
Who knows, maybe one day I'll be building wee mini Hurley's and you lot will be buying them :D :P

Hey Capn Matt, Bunny has told me she would love to give me a Glasgow kiss. Is that any similar to a French Kiss? She won't explain it to me.

oh man - i'll put my pasties away in that case!
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 12:46 PM
haha, unlucky bud!
The French ruined kissing, same as most things. We invented it. Intimacy was a lot funnier back in those days and contained much less arousal, a lot more broken noses and an almost constant stream of swearing. I hear pre-French orgies were just seas of bloody foreheads and people screaming Glaswegian swear phrases like "GERRAFUGGAYABASA!".
Good times.
On a side note...today is *not* a good day to be doing uni work. I can't be arsed. I blame Dharma.

Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 12:57 PM
It was brutal yesterday eh. Had to get to uni in that then it turned out half the folk never bothered turning up lol...the one day I'm not lazy and everyone else is...gutted!
I haven't even started sculpting yet I told myself that this morning I'd take the character sketches and refine them into proper character designs that I could use as reference...alas this morning I've played the guitar, talked on here, played the DS, talked on here, talked on msn to a friend or two, talked on here.
It's terrible I tells ye.

Ooh I never heard of the 'Glasgow kiss' either! I don't think I've kissed anyone from Glasgow. Hmmm
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 03:59 PM
:o no way! Americans not knowing what it is, fair play...but an Irish lass not knowing a Glasgow kiss? You're pulling my leg :p
Robo42
03-04-2008, 04:00 PM
Tq, You would not want to damage that beautiful face with a glasgow kiss. I wholly prefer the French style.
Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:02 PM
HAHAHA! Aww thanks Robo, you've made my day!
But I've never had a Glasgow kiss, honestly! I've only kissed gob****es though :D
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 04:04 PM
Ahh gob****e....what a word! :D

Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:06 PM
AHA! I see! I'm not surprised I didn't know then, my brain tends to shut off against violence and sports! Hmm I wonder is there anything Irish other people wouldn't know about?
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 04:12 PM
Dunno I think Hollywood and Father Ted pretty much stereotyped you lot out of the water :p
My ancestry goes back to Ireland a couple of generations back...McFaddens and McKeowns. Parents lived in a proper stereotypical Irish village called Dunkineely for a good few years too. Good times I hear.
Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:18 PM
HAHA Ah no, Father Ted was one of the BEST shows EVER! So I'd never regret that stereotyping us - I love if you ever hear someone trying to do an Irish accent and getting it wrong, it's so funny!
Yes, down the country can be great craic, there are still some parts that can just wind down and have fun, Dublin has gotten very greedy and mean money-wise, that pisses me off
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 04:23 PM
"Craic".... there's one you could prob get away with a bit of mystery with! Use it as much as you can in like every thread and see how long it takes before someone asks you what the smeg you're on about :p
Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:24 PM
HAHA yes Craic is always one I could use - or just start speaking Irish! :D Or call everyone feckin' eejits HAHAHA
agmic
03-04-2008, 04:28 PM
I'll ask, What is "Craic" ?
Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:34 PM
It just kinda means 'fun'!
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 04:40 PM
Shortest lived mystery EVER.
Shame on you, miss. Shame.
Fire another one! Start randomly shouting "ARE THOSE MY FEET!?" in your best Father Jack tone.
Eejit's another great word. Feck is amazing, especially as you can get away with it so much when it's entirely 110% clear exactly what it means. You can shout feck in front of small children and their parents don't complain...magic.
Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:41 PM
Hahahaha! Feck! Arse! Drink! Girls!
Arse Biscuits!
Capn_Matt
03-04-2008, 04:46 PM

Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 04:48 PM
HAHAHA No I'm never angry - but I do have a loud voice and laugh!
bunnydixon
03-04-2008, 04:57 PM
i remember when my sister was much younger (about 10) she told me she could speak irish - i asked for a demonstration so in her best irish voice she gave me 'top of the morning to ya....' followed by 'feck' LOL!
Turnip Queen
03-04-2008, 05:04 PM
HAHAHA The funny thing is, most Irish people don't know much Irish at all! And we never say 'Top o' the morning to ya' - I don't know where it even comes from! In Dublin we'll say 'How'ya' as a greeting :D
bunnydixon
03-04-2008, 05:08 PM
yeah i know - scottish people never say och aye the noo eithers lol! but yet we all get lumped with these things!

"Honey? I've got something to tell you."
"What is it, dear?"
"Oink"
Or "Honey? As it happens...I'm half sheep's guts boiled in its belly...go figure! So...about that night of wild sex we were about to embark on"
"I dunno...I'm gonna need at least some bbq sauce before we go for it now I reckon"
