Well, Jeremy, since Voltaire said, "The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease", I will give you the following advice for your cough.
Consume an entire box of Ex-Lax. In the morning, you will be too afraid to cough.
(and no one tell boutte this, but it is a mathmatical fact that 50% of drs graduate in the bottom of their class)....I heard. :D
