With nice weather coming, hopefully, where does everyone go for, or wish they could go for vacation. Mine would be going back to Myrtle Beach, last year was great, went with the family, the whole family wife, kids, in-laws and brother in law and his family. 10 in all, but had a great time. Wish I could go back to Disney, been there a couple of times, and I guess I'm just a kid at heart, love that place....

For me, it's gonna be wherever I can get a good deal on - I'd love to go somewhere outside Europe but at the moment my friend and I aren't that great with finances so it'll be somewhere in Europe again - as long as it's hot I don't mind!

I am taking a couple of bike (motorcycle) trips. Maybe to Sturgis but definitely to the White Mountains of NH and the lakes of Maine. My parents actually live in Myrtle Beach. Great place to go on vacation. Plus bike week is usually in May there.

Don't have an actual picture of my bike on this computer but it is a Honda Shadow A.C.E. It's a cruising bike not a crotch rocket.

TQ and B,
I'm a little surprised that you haven't thought about coming Here. I know the airfare is a killer, but with the exchange rate I thought it would be much cheaper for the rest of the vacation. you may be able to get a good package deal to Florida with low airfare. I would def recommend looking into it. last I heard it was 1.4/5 euros per dollar

Yes, per Robo, there could be good package deals in Florida. But be warned, the summer heat can be oppressive down there!!! Go all the way to Hawaii and take your own LOST tour!!
Robo42
03-04-2008, 06:27 PM
Hawaii, is def where we should have our forum dream get together. That would be a seriously long flight from the UK though, esp. if you were in coach. I think I would just have to shoot myself.

I'm a poor student graduating and having all that horrible debt to pay off! Doubt I'll be going anywhere :(
So tempted to just piss off for a few months this summer without telling anyone where though. Go to Spain or Italy or something...get bar work and just have a total "away from it all" period before I hit the career grind.

I am very fortunate my wife and I try to take a nice vacation with our kids (have 5 of them) every year. We are going to Myrtle beach in about 1 1/2 weeks. And we go to Disney World every 2-3 years. This will be our first time going to Myrtle Beach together (we both went when we were younger).

I usually take my vacations in the fall. Last three years I've gone to Hawaii. Been there 7 times. My favorite place in the world. No temporal displacements other than I hated coming back to the real world.

I've always really wanted to go to Scotland or Ireland (gotta love the accents and beautiful countryside... atleast thats what the movies lead me to believe), but unfortunately thats too expensive :-( However for my honeymoon in May my fiance found a really good deal in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at an all inclusive!! I'm so excited!! And my parents are taking us to Las Vegas in August... hopefully I'll win the millions!

Personally I thought Braveheart was alright...couple of good moments in it. Alas, we don't all walk around in kilts constantly anymore...I for one believe my nuts would freeze off and I've grown quite attached to them over the years.
Still, if any of you do end up in Glasgow I'll show you some nice places assuming I still live here once uni finishes and I get a job.

Great list of activities. I'll figure out what could be in store for Day 2!;)
Actually, a week on each accessible island (Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kauai, and the Big Island) would work out great!

Good point.
Both islands are pretty quiet, with only a couple of resorts each. But still very authentic Hawaii.
Maui is a good balance; lots of stuff to do, but not metropolitan/suburban like Oahu. And the Big Island has Kileuea, the active volcano. So if anyone gets out of hand, human sacrifices will be made at crater's edge!!

Christmas in NY is really nice, but can get even more congested than usual. I think late spring is the nicest. Central park is blooming and it is really nice weather to walk around and still warm enough to eat outside.

That sounds lovely! See my friend is working in nursing at the moment, and the place she's in has been messing her around a lot regarding hours so money has been unpredictable for her this year, so we're probably gonna have to go with a cheap deal this year. I'd love to go to America though SO MUCH! Maybe next year, or I could just keep investigating prices and see what I can come up with!

yeah i would love it too - always wanted to go to the east - love the new england kinda area :) but its getting there that is the problem. i am still traumatised by my trip to amsterdam 6 years ago lol! was my new years resolution to get on a plane for the first time ever and afterwards, i had managed to make rick (a frequent flyer) completely terrified aswell. was worse then i could have ever imagined and i will NEVER be doing it again lol!
but if anyone is happy to pay for a lovely cruise for me, you're on! ;) lol!

AWW Poor Bunny! I don't like flying that much myself, because I get really bad pains in my ears, but just the thoughts of going somewhere sunny gets me through it! County Kerry is a good place to go to in Ireland - you can do a thing called 'The Ring of Kerry' - it's really good!
HAHA I've never tried waterskiing Bunny, because I'm terrified! I have a horrible fear of losing balance, I don't know why, because I fall ALL the time! When my friend and I were in Crete we were on a boat and it stopped so everyone could do watersports, and my friend wanted us to go on this banana boat thing, and I thought it didn't look too bad and we paid for it - then I saw how people were getting onto it - jumping down from the boat, and I couldn't do it, cos I knew everyone would be looking at me, and I knew that I would fall into the water and make a show of my friend! HAHA! I'm awful with stuff like that!

beaches are a no go here either. firstly its never warm enough to go to the beach. and even if its a slightly sunny day, when you get there, the sand is actually gravel and the sea is full of tampons, condoms and crap - literally.
