Those things were almost like gliders...

How do they fly that slow?!?

This guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEi1DycCjUE#t=2m45s) just tosses it like a paper airplane.

I'm glad we could do this for you 3D. It's not really a birthday celebration, but more of an intervention for your disease. I know, I know, alcoholism is no laughing matter. But if you can stay strong, we can all stay strong. We'll get through this.

Yes, its called 3d flying....why I have no idea but I suppose its because regular flying is suppose to be 2d, up, down, right, left, etc.

The kind of flying RC that I do, you attempt to fly the play with little or no forward motion and do tricks with the plane. Its much, much more difficult and leads to lots of carnage (otherwise known as crashing).

Its also called flying on the wing, basically the plane is "stalled" for the most part. It requires the power to weight ratio to be severaly out of order and the power is at least 2x times the weight. Your basically using engine thrust across the flying surfaces only with little or no forward motion to create the entire flight envelope. Although, there is some exceptions as a few tricks (like flat spins, etc.) do involve some forward motion but its typically way slower than normal and at or near stall.

Kind of like the X-games of RC flying. The power and control is so severely out of proportion to a normal plane, you can just toss it and don't really need any runway space.

It seemed like there really was no 'right side up.'

It was almost like watching a piece of paper, floating.

I can see why you're 'addicted' so to speak.
