Ok so garden of eden theory i like it others dont im gonna put down all the reasons for and if anyone want to add to it ether for or against plz do
1 garden of eden is surposed to still be in exsistance locked away somewere
2 could that mean through a wormhole explaining time travel
3 dark and white good and evil the black smoke seems to judge everyone
4 names like jacob and ben are surposed to be in psalm 3 same one that talks about the garden of eden
5 surposedly if u add up the numbers it takes you to psalm 3 in the bible
6 ok only 2 kids can been born on the island that we know of arrons 1 and suns baby possibly 2
7 Is arron actually adam and suns baby eve
8 The island itself can heal and destroy locke an rose ect

At first I was thinking there was no way the Island could be the garden of Eden, but after reading this and remembering something it doesn't seem so far fetched. No only everything you listed above, but the bodies Jack found in the valley were referred to as Adam & Eve. Even by the writers of the show. Also, in the Garden of Eden there was everlasting life, but Adam & Eve were kicked out so therefor they eventually died. So maybe that is why Alpert doesn't seem to age. He might only leave the Island occasionally so he that is how he has maintained his youth. So, I would have to research a bit more into that theory, but good job.

This is a very interesting theory. Do we know if the producers have ever discounted this theory as they have with the others?

I like the Garden idea. It has been tossed around by friends of mine for some time now and Im starting to support it. I think the overall "theory" or explanation for the island will be a conglomerate of several ideas suchas The Garden of Eden, The Fountain of Youth, Purgatory, etc.

I agree with the space time theory. I wouldn't confuse science and religious theory. Personally, I do not believe that Adam and Eve walked with the dinosaurs. Have we seen any dinosaurs on the island yet? There are many scientific theories that lend fact to the show. For instance, the Casimir Effect. This is a relevant scientific theory in that it can help explain a significant part of time travel. Quoted from Pysicsworld.com, "The quantum Casimir effect comes about because a vacuum always contains fluctuating electromagnetic fields. Normally these fluctuations are roughly the same everywhere, but two close conducting surfaces set “boundary conditions” that limit the number of allowed field frequencies between them. Only waves that can fit multiples of half a wavelength between the surfaces resonate, leaving non-resonating frequencies suppressed. The result is that the total field inside a gap between conductors cannot produce enough pressure to match that from outside, so the surfaces are pushed together.
The critical Casimir effect has the same underlying principle, but is a classical phenomenon that arises in a mixed liquid close to its critical point — the point, defined by a threshold temperature and pressure, beyond which the gas and liquid phases are indistinguishable. A mixed liquid taken towards its critical point gradually begins to separate into regions of its constituent substances, the size and shape of which fluctuate like the quantum fields in a vacuum. And, like the quantum Casimir effect, two close surfaces in such a liquid set boundary conditions, this time by preferring to be in contact with one of the substances over the other. To fulfil these conditions, the surfaces attempt to surround a single region of the preferred substance by drawing together." The Casimir Effect equation was written on the board in Farraday's office at Oxford.
In other words....this could allow for objects to levitate which would be a useful in time travel. Of course, this is all purely theory.
I think what the show truely gives everyone is what they want to find in it. Ummm, sounds like the islands power, too, doesn't it?

Danielle and Claires baby were not conceaved on the island, The only one that got preganat is Sun. And she has hers off the island. So, no Garden of Eden......

Isn't the garden of Eden meant to have a Angel blocking its entrance holding a sword?

don't think that it was ever mentioned how Karl is on the island...

Other things to think about-
*Smokie is a big long dark creature, resbeling a snake.
*This theory would also go along with the fact that children can not be born on the island.

While it's an interesting theory, IMO if it was really the garden of Eden we wouldn't have recieved such a blatant hint by the 6th episode of the series.

Yeah I don't subscribe to this theory either. Too obvious.

I also do not think this theory works. Where's the snake and the forbidden apple? Who's missing a rib to birth a woman? However, I do recall that the producers have stated that there was great meaning in the two skeletons that the Losties found early on in the cave. Adam and Eve? Amelia Earhardt and her navigator? Jack and Kate-full circle?

Jack and Kate full circle would be really cool. Probably not the case but it would be awesome.

Actually JJ, it is not improbable. Check out this link at Lostpedia. Jack found two rocks on the Skeletons (black and white). And he took them. Could they end up in his and Kate's pockets when they return and find that it is an earlier time?

Maybe the whole world is going to end and Jack and Kate will be the next Adam and Eve lol just a joke.. dont jump on me.. But it would be interesting.

A few things to think about in regards to the garden of eden theory being true with a twist.
1. If the island is inside the garden of eden, then from the outside it cant be found. As scripture indicates that once adam and eve were cast out they would never be able to find it again.
2. Scripture says that the garden of eden still exists and is where the two rivers tigress and euphrates meet, (which is very close or even in TUNISIA)
3. Scripture says that when adam and eve were cast out of eden (where all there needs were met) they went to a place where they found it hard to make a living (sounds like a desert type place dosent it ? )
What if the island IS the garden of eden and the teleporting we have been seeing lately is just some type of wormhole that has existed for thousands or millions of years from a place of abudance and special mystical significance to a desert in the middle of Tunisia ?

You reminded me of what i realised when i saw that scene as i knew exactly what those stones where.
They are the "Urim and the Thummim" stones as recorded in Exodus 28:30
These stones were used to make yes / no descisions
VERY interesting . . .

i know it's way late, but none of the newborns, alex, or carl represent adam and eve. i'm pretty sure. buttt.... remmeber in the caves, they called those two skeletons adam and eve.

I have been pushing the wormhole theory for months but not sure about who Adam and Eve are yet.
I think the writers' do try to vaguely evoke some of the eden mythos, but I highly doubt that the island will ever be revealed officially as eden.

The only problem with this part is that the rivers Tigres and Euphrates are found in Mesopotamia (in the area of modern day Iraq). Tunisia is in north Africa which is some distance away.

I still havent decided which theory to subscribe to, but i see strong biblical references throughout. But heres a thought.
If those bodies were in fact Adam and Eve, is anyone else seeing the similarities of Locke and Jack with their sons Cain and Abel.
Two brothers who turn on each other and eventually leads to Cain killing Abel. Whos who is still debatable, but the obvious conflict between the two along with all the other biblical references and theories.
This could fit?
