I seem to be thinking that either or both michael-walt are is the spy on the freighter that ben talks about. because he said that there was a ship waiting for them when he sent them off in season 3.

I think that is totally plausible. Think about this: Michael would do and has done anything to get his son back. If Ben told him to become the spy on the boat and he would in turn give Walt back I think Michael would do it without hesitation. Also, Ben did give him exact coordinates to leave the Island, what if the coordinates were to the freighter?. Another point is, in the last episode when Sayid & Desmond were trying to get to the phones to call Penny, they were locked in the "health room" . When Sayid asked Mankowski how they were going to get out of the room he said "through the door" followed by "you must have a friend on this ship". So yeah I definitely think IF there is in fact a spy, Michael is a very good candidate for it.

I seem to agree with the thought of the friend on the ship, my first thought was that it was the pilot because he said that if sayid had given him the gun and what not that he was going to help in any way. But i have heard rumors that walt is returning.

I think it's going to be Michael too. The guy who plays Ben (Emerson or something like that) was being interviewed on O and A a week or two ago. When he was pressed for any information about upcoming episodes, he replied that in the next 4 or 5 episodes, "someone who used to be a part of the show will come back in an interesting way" (paraphrased) and he also stated that a character you love are going to be hurt. After connecting the prior statement with the friend on the boat who opened the door, which would most likely be the same person as Ben's spy, Michael seems like the most feasible choice. At least he does to me. I also wouldn't be surprised if Walt was with him, he was recently brought up by Locke. It seems like some foreshadowing is going on.

All I can say is that if Walt is going to return to the show, I hope it is pretty soon. I would really like to have him return before he is an adult! Also I would really like more information about what happened to him when he was taken by the others. I love this show and still hope that all the answers will be revealed by the end of the shows production because if they leave half of the stuff unsaid, boy am I going to be pissed. LOL I can't wait to watch all of the episodes again once the series ends, just to see if it all adds up and to catch many clues that I probably missed the first time. Does anyone hope that the writers will be available to answer questions when this is all over?

I agree...this is a huge missing piece of our LOST puzzle...i think that maybe they attempted to brainwash walt in room 23 but possibly he has such powerful gifts that it failed....i think that michael could return as our "coffin occupant" also!!?? omg...who knows..lol

dude ben never said there was a boat waiting for them. but i do believe michael is ben man on the boat. I think he sort of doing what Sayid was doing in his flash forward. Working for Ben to keep his friends safe on the island. As for Walt i dunno, he could be w/ Michael or on the island or back in the states, i dunno

ok, we all know this is Lost... i would LOVE to say its Michael, i like that he stayed to free Walt, and i like that it may be Walt cause Jon saw him. But seriously, you think its gonna be THAT obvious who it is... personally, i think it may be a woman, all we know is he has a man on the boat, man on the boat, well Lost style... its gonna be a chick

Now I saw something about Libby being in ep #8 as an extra, maybe its Libby on the boat... JUST AN IDEA, im just saying... Michael and/or Walt is the extreme obvious choice... discuss...

you're right in that it does seem pretty obvious that Michael would be the spy, but Libby as the spy is kinda impossible considering she's dead. If Libby is coming back, I think she's coming back either like Charlie has, in a dream or a flshback. As far as the spy on the freighter goes, it could really be anyone. It could be a character that hasn't even been introduced yet, but as of right now Michael does seem like the most plausible person. Think about this, Ben had complete control over Micheal's action when he had Walt prisoner, therefor Ben had all the leverage in the world he needed to make Michael do whatever he wanted. Even if meant becoming a spy for him. On the flip side of the though, Ben is so smart and calculating that I think he would most definitely only have someone he completely trusts to be the spy and I don't know that he would totally trust Michael. However, if Ben is threatening Michael that he will hurt his friends and/or son then maybe he would still have the leverage he needs to control Micheal. Who knows!?! Here's another thought, what if the spy is someone form the tail end of the plane that the others captured early on.
Anyway, is everyone getting excited about tonight's episode? I can't wait to here everyones theories tomorrow!!

All leads point to Michael. I thought that maybe they think they just left the island and bumped into the freighter. Michael would probably be persuaded to work with Ben as spying because he feels guilty over his actions of betraying his friends. Walt wouldn't be there though, he'd want him safe and away. As for the Libby end, I can't quite figure that one out. Unless she's just an "appearance" like Walt for Shannon, Christian for Jack, Dave for Hurley, etc.

One major question is, even with a spy on the boat how do they communicate back and forth. It seems like the Michael Walt idea would work out, especially with Locke's relationship with Walt. I think more and more time travel is going to play an important factor. There are SO MANY questions to be solved, and each week they add a dozen more and don't answer ANY. I am sure no matter how the show ends in the future die hard fans will find a way to pick it apart, but even with a couple seasons left, I already don't want this all to end. Hopefully they will answer some NEXT week. yeah right.

I have been wondering too if it isn't that Anna Lucina that we all think is dead. She has been mentioned a couplel of times this season. Ben told that He'd better be sitting down when he told him who it was, right?

I kinda think its going to be someone that died. Like Boone or Charlie. Someone that Locke would be shocked to hear is still alive or on the boat. Shocked. If he said it was michael or walt, why would he have to sit down? How bout his Dad? Making right of his wrong? And the one sawyer killed could have been a fake person (Smokey) which I beleave to be all the images that people see and I think Ben has some control over it. Also, could it be a past self of someone that has died? Maybe. Now that this whole Desmond going back and forth from past and present self has come into play, they opened up a whole new can of worms of possibilities.

Ok, so if the spy is someone who has "died" or someone believed to be dead, my bet would be Charlie. I'm not saying that I definitely think it's Charlie, but he is the only Lostie who's body hasn't been found or buried yet. Everyone else actully had a funeral service of some kind and was buried: Boone, Shannon, Mr. Eko, Libby, Ana Lucia, etc... Anyway, maybe Charlie didn't die in the explosion and one of the Others, possibly patchy, brought him to the freighter, told him if he wanted to protect Claire & his friends, he had to become the spy!! If it's not Micheal, Walt or Charlie I can't imagine who else would matter enough to Locke that he would have to sit down to hear who the person is. He has a very close connection with Walt, he helped Charlie kick the heroin habit after which they became friends & Micheal did a lot of damage to everyone, then disappeared.... I don't think it's Sayid simply because he said a couple of episodes ago, that the day he trusts Ben is the day he sells his soul or something like that. There hasn't been any reason yet for Sayid to work for Ben aka "sell his soul". Obviously later on there will be something that happens that gives Ben the leverage he needs to control Sayid, but I just don't think it has happened yet. However, who knows. This show is full of surprises!! What do you guys think?

i think that Charlie is still alive and may or may not be the spy. maybe john locke is the spy and we havent suspected it. but still, charlie's got to be a live b/c 1) hugo sees him and a couple of other people see him(in the flash forwards i mean) and they tell eachother that they have seen him. Penelope told desmond that she talked to charlie when he (desmond) called her. i dont know if that was before charlie died or after he died.
and whatever happend to Michael and Walt? where did they go and where have they been?

I don't think Locke is the spy, he is too interested in who actually is and it is driving him nuts. He also asked Ben who the spy was, which is when Ben told him to sit down (insinuating the person he reveals will shock him). I don't know if I fully believe Charlie is alive, but the possibilities are endless with this show so who knows. As far as other people seeing Charlie besides Hurley, I haven't seen that yet. Who else has seen Charlie? Also, remember that when Charlie appeared to Hurley Charlie told him he knew he was dead, but somehow there too. So, he is most likely dead, but like I said, who knows. Now, Michael and Walt were "let off the Island" by Ben at the end of season 2. As far as the audience is supposed to be concerned they are home or wherever, just far from the Island. I do not believe that for one minute. It would not be that simple. I hope my input helps!! :)

Oh yeah one more thing, Charlie talked to Penelope right before he died. Remember he went down to whatever station that was underwater and talked to Penny on a satellite phone or something. That's when she told him the freighter wasn't hers. Which is why he wrote on his hand "not Penny's boat". That is what she is referring to when she talks to Desmond.
