It can't all be about Ben - he was just a child when they moved to the island. Dharma was there before him. The Black Rock was there before him. It's not like Ben created anything or did anything - it all existed before he came along.

Cause they've never lied to us before lol. After every episode two of the head writers/creators/producers have a podcast where they answer questions and give hints about the future of the show. This has been going on for a long time and so far everything they've said has been the truth.
