:Dwhy did the writers of lost point out the fact that jack and claire share the same father when claires mom had gotten in the car accident, and yet they have not followed up on that.

Yes, but the lost poducers and writers like to start controversy so im almost positive something will come up about it because they wouldnt just show that episode and not follow up on it.

they may find out they are half brother and sister and that may be why jack doesnt want to see the baby??? because its his nephew

Sawyer met Jack's dad at the bar in Sydney and he put two and two together when Jack said "and that's why the Red Sox's will never win the World Series" and then told Sawyer it was something his dad used to say.
The REAL question is how dear old dad got back to life, remember Jack saw the body in the morgue in Sydney before the flight. He old the doctor in the Season 3 flash forward, "get my dad down here and if I am drunker than him you can fire me". He also told the pharmacist that his dad was out of town. Maybe that was to cover for a forged prescription for pain pills but how could the other remark get by if dad was not still alive.
Maybe this has something to do with the island time being in the past? Or maybe Jack needs his father alive so that he can fix his issues so the island brought him back to life. But if that were the case I think a dead guy coming back to life would be a bigger story than the O6.
