I recently changed to Default, and I'm liking it.

Firefly fluid. It's very nice to look at. I don't like default because the white bothers my eyes. :)

The "skin" for the forum here? you know, how it looks? on main page, all the way at the bottom in the middle there is a pull down menu with several choices of skins for the way the forum looks.

It's a strange dynamic... I think we just got used to the darker colors, and stuck with it.

I didn't even know i could change it. I've been using blue and will keep doing so. That default is horrible

I am kinda, well very, photophobic and the dark background is perfect for me. If the screen were light I would loose words on it and not see them at all...weird, huh?

I've had an issue with you guys from the start with your light-colored 'highlighting' of words, and sometimes whole posts, that I'm left wondering why the f*** I can't see anything. But some of you don't change the color of your text at all, and go on pretending to be like us normal Default-skin users.

I tried it for a while, but I could visibly see it sucking my soul away. And by sucking my soul away, I mean seemingly depleting my internet usage allowance quite a bit a more than the default does.

I don't agree. I feel the four skins are purely useless and it is the clean Firefly that looks the best. :)

I usually use Firefly but like to change up once in awhile..but the Firefly is easier on the eyes...well, except for these white flashes on my computer screen everytime I scroll up or down..those are annoying !!

Turn the brightness down. It's the same as reading a book, or a newspaper. Black on white. :p

But, alas, I have problems doing that. I have problems seeing the back lit eye chart in the doctors office. Photophobia is not much fun sometimes. The dark is soothing to my eyes. :)

I might have that. bright sunny days are torture on my eyes. There have been times when I literally couldn't see. Everything would just turn white. It hasn't happened in awhile. Maybe it's because with age my eyes have gotten darker. My eyes used to be almost yellow. A little girl once told her mother "Look that man has ET eyes." :p

Funny thing... I completely forgot about the forum skins.

And strangely, I think "Firefly fluid" is the real default, because I never changed mine. I just now tried out "Default" and... yikes! I'm actually quite used to a bunch of other websites in a light colored scheme. But because I've become accustomed to using LOST in the dark blue scheme, it's weird without it. Gotta go back to Firefly. Seems like most are using it too, probably because it is one that is set by default. :)

I have the Firefly, but I never set it up like that. After the "hacking incident" when the site came back up this was what I had and I never looked back.
(obviously since I didn't even know you could change the colours)

the old forum was green, at least mine was, maybe we had skins in there too, I don't remember, but this is real peaceful for me, the blue, and I do think my eyes are way more sensitive to sunlight than they used to be, I thought it was because I wear the hat so much, I need a summer hat, maybe I will find one in Chicago.

I was using Default for the longest time, and like Chester, hated it oh so much when peeps would write in white or yellow. I couldn't understand why anybody would do that....until I discovered you could change the background. I didn't know it was called "skins" tho. "skins" has a different meaning to me.....as in "pass the skins so I can skin up"

I have since felt that a change was needed in my life and I now use "Emerald". I'm just giving it a 3 month trial period and I think I will go back to "default". Emerald is just too green even for me.

I used to like Predator, but I have it on Firefly now. Have for a while, it's easy on my eyes, but then I like low lights.

I have the blue and just checked the others and like the green as a second, but chose it for less eye strain :)

I just switched back to Predator. It's what I used here for a couple of years so it has sentimental value.
