So why do you think when Charlie asked Penny about her boat...she replied something like : "Boat, what Boat?" Could it be her dad's boat and she has no idea what he's up to???

Yeah, I don't think Penny has any clue of what her father is doing. And I'm sure Desmond is going to have a larger role because of the relationship between him and her father.

Widmore is trying to find the island. I think that's why he put up the racearound the world just to see if the island could be found

Maybe its Locke that is the spy, as he would be stitting down in the future?

whidmore is definatley the logical owner of the boat, but something about that still seems very fishey. we cant believe everything that ben says because he is a great liar and is very smart. who's to say that he isnt working with whidmore (and thats why he has access to 3.2 mill in cash) maybe he filmed that footage of whidmore beating that guy..... maybe he was there with whidmore's permission?? I think that ben is trying to create a "Revolution" as he said to locke... after all how do you think everyone (especially Sawyer) is going to react to ben walking around all smug like that? They are already uneasy with some of the choices locke has made already....just a thought

Well the ep preview stated that we will see someone we thought we'd never see again.

I think they are setting us up to think that it's Michael or Walt, but what if it isn't? I mean, I think it is Michael, too, but think about it. That's an awful easy conclusion for us to come to, isn't it? If we all already think it's Michael and we know that the actor who plays him is coming back, would the writers make it that easy for us?

So, IF it's NOT Michael or Walt...who could it be?

This is going to sound CRAZY but I swear my gut instinct, as soon as I heard that in the ep preview, was it's Locke's dad.

yeah, my first thought was michael or walt as well....but if they want to add a twist to it, make it someone like charlie or the communication guy from the flame! haha

as for mr. widmore i can see him working with hanso and the DI. afterall daniel and lewis tell juliet that they know ben has used the gas to kill in the past. so who other than the DI people would know that? any thus want ben.

either way, this season is getting good!

I doubt it is a future anyone. So far conciousness is the only thing that has moved in time. There has never been 2 physical Desmonds at the same time. His mind was traveling between his 1996 body and his 2004 body. I will have a hard time understanding how Michael or Walt were able to get on the boat and become trusted enough to relay information to Ben. Obviously Ben has alot of resources at his disposal why would he put someone that a person like Widmore could easily track back to the 815 flight roster? I think we are still in for a surprise on this one. Unless somehow Walt/Michael are prisoners on the ship but are able to project things to the island/Ben.

I'm thinking that the spy is either Michael and/or Walt. Butttttt.
Who ever said that Ben's man on the boat was from the island ?
Now remember, Ben told Locke to set down for the answer as to who is the spy....is it was patchy, that's the only on Locke knew about....he doesn't know Jack's dad. and his dad is died.....with the help of lostpedia. what is the spy is from Locke's past.....again not the dad. but either Eddie that was the cop from the commune, or Helen from Lockdown, the lady that Locke was going to marry... just my thoughts...

Elmer

I like the Helen idea. Probably not going to happen but that would be a great twist. Also just because Michael is coming back does not automatically make him the spy.

If you look at the previews from next week you can clearly see the outline of Michaels hair in the shot. So it is Michael who is the spy.

what is Michael and Walt are just on the boat, or even held as hostiles, and the crew doesn't trust them....umm two guys in a small boat, way out here. The crew might think this is a little fishy........

I understand agmic but I am saying that Walt and Michael made it home safely and Ben recruited him after the fact because Michael owed him one and he also felt guilty about leaving his "friends" behind on the island just like Jack and Hurley are now feeling guilty for leaving.

Ok, First post here, but I read all the time...
I think Penny DOES know the boat... remember McKowsi said that the red light flashed and it meant Penny was calling? So she knew about the boat...
Second.. it has to be Michael, we already know from the rumors during the off season that Michael was signed to a contract this season....

At the end of season 2, didn't ben give michael a bearing to follow that would take him to a ship for rescue? could this be widmore's ship meaning that the spy must have already been on it? therefore it couldn't possibly be michael or walt.

Elmer

Good thought...

Michael may be on the boat but not Ben's spy.

weren't the coordinates that Ben gave Michael different Coordinates then what The Helicopter took?

Yes, they were. However, I concede it's possible that the boat may have, you know, MOVED in between Ben giving Michael the co-ordinates and Frank/Sayid/Desmond landing on it.

There were a few post discussing how bearing is determined not only by end location but also by where you are starting from. Therefore they could head on 2 different bearings to reach the same destination if they were starting from 2 different spots on the island.

Yes, I was a main contributor to that thread, and expounded that Michael would have had to start 20 miles west of where Frank/Sayid/Desmond left from for them to meet at the same point. Likely? I can't say. Gut hunch? Not really.

How does Widmore know about the island to begin with? Sure, we saw him buy the Black Rock book, but how did he know to find and purchase that book?

I dont think it will be Michael or Walt because we all know they are coming back reguardless of contracts or what not Walt has been seen many times after he left leaving everyone to believe we would see him and then obviously Michael as well again. I agree they may be on the boat from the cords that they were given but i dont think Michael is Bens man i believe that Sayid is Bens man and has been for sometime...ie Ben knows where Sayids love is (i forget her name starts with an N) and he works for Ben. Possibly Sayid's love dies on the boat that is what the line from Ben to Sayid was about.

I've been saying for a long time that it was Widmore's whole operation. There were too many clues pointing to him as the guy. But, I'm way passed that. I'm interested more in Rousseau's involement. I think she has a lot of information about everything with the island. Not seeing anyone for 16 years is B******t.

so the communications officer who died two episodes ago said something about a blinking yellow light meaning a call from Penny that they were told to ignore... And now that we know its Widmore, and that the people on the boat knew Desmond, what are they doing there? Are they there for Ben, or to get rid of Desmond? And its totally Michael!!

Michael is the Spy for Ben. In the Preview it says, "you will see someone u never expected to see ever again." and u see Sayid's eye open SOOOO big in Shock.

i always thought michael was the villiage idiot, and ben would know that too. i respect michael is, unfortunately, re-joining the show, but i'd hope ben could find someone with more smarts to be his spy.

also, since it's widmore's operation, he was the one keeping penny from getting through to the freighter, and whatever the freighter's crew knows regarding the losties or the island is being communicated to widmore so assuming he has a sat phone, widmore knows desmond is on the freighter.

I still say WALT is Ben's "Man on the boat'!!!

IT'S WALT

Ok I know that it's Mike that is the spy. No doubt what so ever. Question is, how did he get on board the ship more important how did he earn a truste dspot. I bet when the freighter crew found out where Mike had been It drew in their intress. Pluss he had the cordance from Ben him self. Pluss he knew all kinds of things about the island and Ben's actions. But how doese he comuncate with Ben and undetected? He destroyed the radio contrls for a reason. Perhaps he has a plan?

IT'S WALT

That would make more sense then Michael because I still don't see why Locke would have to sit down to be told it's Michael as Locke already knows he is Ben's man to some extant. But if he said it was Walt and then proceeded to explain why Walt was so special, it would be quite a moment of revelation for Locke or maybe he just needs to sit down because its a long story. Michael would also be on board which seem to be a certainty according to the other posts, but only because he was with Walt.

Im nearly postive Micheal is the spy. But here's a thought... do you think Micheal helped Widmore find the island? Widmore would have to know that Micheal was on flight 815. Micheal was giving directions to get off the island. What if he was approach by Widmore and giving money in return for directions to the island. Or Widmore could promise to save all his friends. We know that Ben has people off the island. And in some wierd way he can comunicate with them. So maybe Micheal was then confronted by one of Ben's people and then convinced to turn against Widmore.

You taste like fish biscuits

I don't think that there is anyway possible that the spy on the boat is Ben. The people from the Miles & Faraday said that their "primary objective" was to find Ben, why would the be looking for someone who is already on the boat?
