Just an observation. Miles said this. And now Harper said it on behalf of Ben.

I think that Ben knew he could manipulate Locke and be out in no time ....(his last bargaining tool...yeah right)...i think that he is sooo good at using people against eachother and hitting their weak points to get what he needs....he loves to be the center of attention and in the middle of all of the drama:)

IDK but Des was travelling between 1996 and 2004, maybe the answer is in the past (or future).

What did Miles say exactly? I don't remember him saying this.

I don't have the exact quote but when Kate went to see him at the boat house he said he was exactly where he wanted to be.

Miles: "I'm right where I want to be" .....he said this to Kate when she broke into the boathouse to ask him if he knew anything about her.

Personally, I think Ben has this all planned out. He's still got plenty of tricks up his sleeves I'm sure. We at least know he doesn't die (Sayid Flash Forward). When he told Locke about Widmore and said that's all he had left to keep secret from Locke or something like that. I'm sure he planned that and all of this. But I don't get how he can communicate with the rest of the Others.

Look at it this way, when all of this business on the island is said and done, Ben is off somewhere in the world forcing Sayid to kill people for him! We don't know what kind of situation Widmore will be in during the future, but I think it's safe to say that he certainly didn't accomplish everything he was hoping to accomplish in coming to the island if Ben gets off and starts wreaking havoc in the world. That to me pretty much proves that Ben wins lol. Also, I found it interesting that Juliette said something to the effect of "there is a war going on between Ben and the people who are coming to the island and Ben will win". Juliette is someone who clearly holds resentment for Ben, if not pure hatred, and certainly knows a lot more about him than we do. Even she is convinced that he's essentially unstoppable. I think this all pretty much adds up to Ben basically being the King of the island for the foreseeable future lol.

As far as the connection between what Miles said and what the "other woman" said, either this is confirmation that Miles is working with the Others or perhaps it's just the writers way of tricking us and simply telling us that both Ben and Miles are indeed just where they need to be in order to accomplish their goals.

Good observations Rain. But have to add that it's actually Juliette who is "The other woman".

gotta agree, im sure ben has much more to share and i wouldn't be surprised if there was another secret passage way. another interesting thing from tonight was claire's comment about being "hostile"...i like how the writers are switching the question of who exactly are the hostiles?

as we know the "hostiles" were the orignial inhabitants, who had lived there for many years prior to the DI (as noticed with Richard and his anti-aging) im also thinking that Haper is possible part of that group. The others where the purged DI and then our poor losties...but as claire points out locke's group seems to be appearing more and more like hostiles with all there actions....just somemore angles in LOST

I think that either or Ben or possibly Jacob are able to project themselves as images of other people. We are not sure that Harper is even still alive and wandering the woods. So either Ben was in contact with her somehow or she is a projection of someone juliete would possibly trust. (as shown by her warning Juliete to stay away from her husband not for her own reasons but for the safety of her husband) The information that she gave to Juliete pertaining to the reason Charlotte and Faraday were going to the station was a lie.
