Did you hear the whispers when Goodwins wife met Juliett in the jungle? Does that mean she's dead? If not where has she been and where did she come from? :confused: And why the whispers, haven't heard them in a while!

Yeah...the whispers started before she appeared and while she vanished.....i think that this is the first time that Juliette has heard the whispers. When i was watching the orchid video....i swear that i heard the same whispers before "marvin Candle" started talking(while he was having makeup applied)
Obviously the voices always come right before something pretty major is going to happen....maybe its from another dimension

I don't know about the wispers, but does Juliette hear Ben in her head? She told Jack that he told her to kill them both - does she have the island sickness too?

i don't know but i was just thinking something funny....fight club ....ben kind of reminds me of Brad Pitt, the alter ego....he is so sinister at times...but soooo sneaky:)

I thought that Ben told Juliet to kill them both through Harper. Now, having said that it is still a mystery to me as to HOW Ben got to Harper to tell Juliet!!! It was as if she appeared form NOWHERE!!!!! :eek: a bit creepy!!!

We have to remember that the island is in some sort of time warp, or there is some sort of time travel involved. Ben is exactly where he wants to be, so maybe he is in the (TIME MACHINE?), and went back to the past (or to the future) to give the message.

Oh yeah! that's what he could mean by "I'm exactly where I want to be". maybe conviently theres a portal right where Locke put Ben.

I watched it again today and I still can't come up with an idea of where she came from. We never saw her on the show befor. And the whispers start, she appears, they talk, the whispers start again, she's gone. :eek:

she could very well be a manifestation of the smoke monster and ben actually knows what it is....

or Ben gave Harper the orders long before the Others left to go to the Temple and told her that people would be parachuting in, and that she must tell Juliet to kill whoever tried to set off the gas at the Tempest

I like the time travel idea. they may not need a machine or a portal (Desmond does'nt). That could expain a few of the weired happenings on the island.:eek:

I would love to know what the whispers are and I am sure that we will get an explanation soon. Right now I feel that they are either a distraction from the underground tunnels to mask the movements of the natives, or they have something to do with smokey.

i was wondering about some kinda tunnel system aswell!

i cant remember who had this idea but it was fab - the whispers being the consciousnesses of time travelers who have come back to find their present body is dead and they have nowhere to go!

i know some of them are boone and christian aswell so, its gotta be ghost related?

hey guys, i had posted a thread about this topic of how Harper and the others are probably talking to Ben...there are subterranean tunnels that lead from the Barracks, and one even leads away from one of the houses, possibly Ben's (which i think Locke is currently using)...but here are the pics showing the tunnels from the barracks, and who knows where they lead...one lead to the Flame station (so it is possible that the tunnels lead to other stations as well.

Harper did look a little pale/ghostly. I still think that was a smokey trick.

i think it was the smoke monster trying to manipulate juliet. ben probably has no clue about what is happening outside his basement. That would mean that the monster wants the gas to still be operational and also the freighter crew dead

I belive it's Jacob's doing when you hear the whispers. Because I heard them when Hurley was looking into Jacob's cabin. Any time there is a guide involved you hear whispers. When Smokie appears i never once heard whispers. I belive the Harper Juliet and Jack saw was Jacob again trying to guide our Losties. He knew Juliet would know the island better than Jack. So he chose the form of Harper to guide Juliet. If it had been Jack's call to do a task id imagine Jack's father would have been the guide.

I do like the fact that each time the whispers are heard... something disappears as quickly as it came, and some weird turn in the story happens.

It's hard to say because you would have to go back and watch all the episodes, but I thought the wispers occurred when someone like walt or goodwin's wife (alive; as far as we know) appearred and then vanished. Then when someone like libby or charlie (Dead; as far as we know) appear there are no whispers in the back ground? Could goodwin's wife and Walt have similar gifts?

If Ben could travel back in time then that would imply that he brought Juliette to the island to save his mother.

I know this is a late question - and I did do a search, but didn't locate any answer - so here goes... Why isn't Jack surprised by seeing Harper? He just seemed so nonchalant by her presence. He knows how many people came off the helicopter - so why doesnt he show concern - as in - holy sh** who the heck are you, where did you come from and why don't I know who you are? His response just wasn't right

So to me he acted pretty normal.

JULIET: What are you doing here?
HARPER: I came to deliver a message... from Ben. The two people you're looking for--Faraday and Lewis... they're headed to the Tempest. And if they figure out how to deploy that gas... then everyone on this island is going to die.
JULIET: Why don't you stop them?
HARPER: Because Ben wants you to go.
JULIET: How can Ben possibly know where they are when he's a prisoner?
HARPER: Ben is exactly where he wants to be.
JULIET: How am I supposed to stop them?
HARPER: By pointing the gun and pulling the trigger.
JACK: Hey!
(Jack comes up and cocks his gun.)
JACK: Who are you?
HARPER: I'm an old friend of Juliet's. I just told her where the people you're looking for are headed. Maybe you and your gun can go, too.
(Ghostly voices whispering)
(whispering stops)
(Jack and Juliet are distracted, and look around for the source of the whispers. When they turn back around, Harper has vanished.)

Cool Site, but seems like jiberish. Maybe the writers just have people talk jiberish thinking no one will ever understand it anyhow?
